And that was the end of John’s journal. This book has been passed around in my family for as long as anyone could remember. No, I do not know how it was found or how the earth eventually unfroze itself. The only thing I do know is that this diary was meant to land in my hands. I do hope that I did it justice by publishing it and I believe that those who read this will have a better understanding of the balance of science and religion in our world.…

On September 11th of 2001, the United States of America was attacked for the second time in history on their own soil. Most Americans remember where they were and what they were doing when news of this heartbreaking story broke. In the beginning, the nation was mostly awe-struck and sad, but within just a few months, questions began to raise. Sadly, one of the worst tragedies in the history of the United States, 9/11, was an inside job. From the uncommon stock activity preceding the attack, eyewitness and expert accounts at the Twin Towers, and the unusual activity at the Pentagon, it is quite clear that this…

Alexander, then director of the National Security Agency (NSA), told Congress more than 50 potential terrorist attacks had been thwarted by two controversial programs tracking more than a billion phone calls and vast swaths of Internet data each day. Additionally, the attacks on would-be targets such as the New York Stock Exchange were prevented by consuming telephone and Internet information from millions of Americans since September 11, 2001. In testimony, General Alexander said, "In recent years, these programs, together with other intelligence, have protected the U.S and our allies from terrorist threats across the globe to include helping prevent the potential terrorist events over 50 times since…

Thanks to George Orwell, author of masterpieces like “1984”, I believe I have become much more aware of how easily can, and in some cases is, premeditated by an organization with immense amounts of power. For example, in the book “1984” Orwell explains how there are telescreens in every outer party members living quarter which are like two way televisions that monitor anything and everything in their sight or what it hears. And also since these can never be turned off completely, you are watched pretty much the majority of the time. Sounds a lot like the way so many of us communicate, maybe even too much. How do we know the government or anybody isn’t watching us through the lenses on our phones, cameras, and computers? The answer is we don’t, and we might not ever know as long as we fall so easily before our government.…

The government acts as the rival in this film, corrupt with power and packed with evil. Each time we see to what lengths the government will go to destroy one man it sends a shiver down our spine, because part of us believes that this could be real. The truly frightening thing is that this could be real. David Marconi, who wrote the screenplay, spent months researching the real NSA and the high-tech gadgetry they use, and…

In the article “A Surveillance Society” by William E. Thompson and Joseph Hickey, the passage tells how surveillance technology had advanced and has flourished over the U.S, if the people should feel safe or paranoid, and how easy it is for someone to get one of these tools. First, there are many types of surveillance technology in the world some examples are night vison goggles, scanners, even our cellular devices could be used for surveillance. In the passage, paragraph 11 mentioned that cameras are becoming so small that we could expect bug scale drones flying into or out of anywhere making privacy close to impossible to have. A second point, our government after 9/11 set the Patriot so they can spy without the people’s consent so they can…
