John Green (John Michael Green) is an author, producer, vlogger, actor and editor. He was born on August 24, 1977 in Indianapolis. His debut novel, Looking For Alaska, won the Printz Award in 2006, while The Fault In Our Stars, his 6th novel, made it on top of The New York Times Bestseller list in January 2012.
Apart from Looking For Alaska and The Fault In Our Stars, John Green also wrote An Abundance of Katherines, Let It Snow: Three Holiday Romances (written with two other Y.A. authors), Paper Towns, and Will Grayson, Will Grayson.
Green is also a popular vlogger and is well known for his YouTube channel, VlogBrothers, which he launched with his brother in 2007.

Theme
The Fault in Our Stars evolves around the typical coming of age theme and the topic of life and death. There are two central characters in the story: Hazel and Augustus, who are going from childhood into the more complicated world of adulthood. At the same time, as they come out of age, they are both battling cancer.

Writing Style
In The Fault In Our Stars, John Green used the perspective of the main character, Hazel Grace. Even at the beginning of the novel, the readers can easily relate with her character. The style is sarcastic and humorous, making the readers feel that they know Hazel.
