Jg Character Analysis
Personality J.G. is a very sociable girl. She is easy to talk to and is always willing to participate. She is a hard worker and is often trying her best. Although she lags behind academically, I believe that her bubbly personality and her “go get it” disposition, will help her success academically. Reading J.G. is below grade level for reading. She has a hard time decoding words, and she spends much of the time rereading the story. She also skips words while reading. Thus, her reading fluency is not good. She devotes so much time decoding the story, that she has difficulty comprehending the reading. There are a few strategies I would use to help J.G. become a better reader. She also seems to have a limited vocabulary. Sometimes she writes run on sentences. Finally, she forgets to write ordinal indicators. In this sense, a personal word wall is a notebook in which students write down words that they have misspelled on their writing pieces. Students are to then research and write down the meaning of each word. Finally, students are to write a sentence for each word. This is a good way to practice spelling as well as to build vocabulary. Second, I would run two mini/individual lessons with her on sentence structure and run on sentence. The second lesson would build up from the first and there would be enough chances for J.G. to practice her newly acquired knowledge, both through targeted activities, as well as free
