Jen Hendricks Biography
Jen Hendricks has been involved with social media marketing for over seven years. She graduated from Creighton University in 2010, where she received a degree in journalism and mass communication.
After graduation, Hendricks began her career as a web content specialist for Tighton Tools and Fasteners. She was responsible for creating and acquiring content for the company’s website and other communications media. In 2012, Hendricks left her current position to join TigerPaw Software. She served as marketing and social media coordinator. Her responsibilities include developing original content and suggesting creative ways to attract more customers and promote the brand. She is responsible for the development and execution of social media content across university’s Facebook and Twitter accounts with the aim to build brand awareness and enhance the university’s reputation locally, nationally and internationally. Creating content is the primary duty of her position. On Mondays, she works with her colleagues to create a social media content calendar. This calendar includes list of content should be published, people responsible for creating and publishing content, publishing dates and channels. Hendricks also provides one-on-one and group social media training for those who want to build a virtual network using social media platforms and then leverage that network to help grow their campaign or business.
Web content development is a hybrid of journalism and marketing, so it’s important that a content developer becomes skilled in both areas. Being good at writing but not marketing can mean your great content never gets noticed; being good at marketing but not at writing means you will fall short in presenting a content well.
