The religion has some basics that the followers of Jediism try to follow. The first thing they have to follow is a list of thirty-three teachings (JEDI). These teachings are a set of characteristics and virtues that a Jedi should practice. These characteristics can somewhat be compared to the ‘Fruit of The Spirit’ in Christianity. This religion also has three principles of – “Wisdom, Focus, and knowledge” (JEDI). “When used correctly, the Jedi principles allow us to better ourselves and overcome any obstacle. I find it to be very interesting due to the fact that rarely will there be any newer religions that come to light. Most religions that can be found started a very long time ago and have become tradition for some families. I think this religion would attract many of the newer generations of teenagers and young adults if they have not expressed any interest in a religion yet or if their family does not go to church somewhere. I also find it quite interesting that “Jediism is a religion based on the observance of the Force, a ubiquitous and metaphysical power that a Jedi (a follower of Jediism) believes to be the underlying, fundamental nature of the universe. Jediism finds its roots in philosophies similar to those presented in an epic space opera called “Star Wars”. It is a religion in and of itself” (The Temple).
