Jason Farwell: Ethical Decisions In Aviation
The dream of flying can be sparked as a child, by watching your dad get his pilots license and take you up flying. That’s exactly what got Jason Farwell into aviation. Jason is a certified flight instructor for airplanes. We talked about ethical decisions and how they can affect other people view of the aviation community. Both of us agreed that everyday people have to make an ethical choice to continue to work towards the pilot rating and still have enough money to pay their bills. He said, “It’s tough to watch people give up on their dream of flying because they have hit a tough spot financially.” (Jason). I have also seen that first hand out here in Salina, were student have to give up on the degree because the debt has become too overwhelming.

Jason also went on to tell me about how CFI have to make an ethical decision each time they go flying because each student learns differently and they also will handle the situation differently. I understand where he was coming from because in CFI ground school we learned that a student physically uncomfortable if they do not like what is going on or if they do not understand what they are supposed to do.
