Mr. Martin has spent a short time as the Dodge Clinic’s new CEO and has recently been challenged with its restructuring. The Dodge Clinic underwent a transition from a partnership form of an organization to a not-for-profit foundation just under two years ago. It is now governed by a board, two-thirds of whose members are drawn from the community's business and civic leaders. While competing against four other hospitals has proven difficult for the clinic after the move to a not-for-profit foundation, the clinic proved to produce a small positive bottom line. Though a year later, the clinic is now showing a net loss of about 1.2 million dollars, with estimations that this loss could double in the upcoming year. With limited time before Mr. Martin addresses the board of trustees, he has been tasked with the responsibility to devise a comprehensive plan that will cut costs in a relatively short time while promoting employee morale. With that in mind, Mr. Martin has called together the Clinic’s management council for a meeting, to uncover profitable solutions from the opinions of the department heads. This will without a doubt become a challenge that will test Mr.…
The organization that I have chosen to do my SWOT analysis on is the New Orleans Saints football team. They are among the most successful teams of this decade but not ranked very high as far as most lucrative organizations in the National Football League. They are currently ranked 23rd among the 30 active teams in the national football league. The organization was formed and became a professional football team in 1967. The team got its nickname due to its founding being on All Saints Day on November 1, 1967. The team initially one of the weaker franchises in the league. It didn’t win many games and struggled to sell out games. They have won one Super Bowl title, 5 Division Championships, and made only 9 playoff appearances in its 46 year existence. The ultimate goal of this organization is to win football games and generate revenue by selling tickets and merchandise.…
Jackson Memorial Hospital is the main centerpiece of an integrated healthcare delivery system located in the heart Miami. Jackson has been providing care to the residents of Miami-Dade for almost a decade. However, Jackson has been experiencing profit loss in various areas. Therefore, a research was conducted to inquire into Jackson’s financial problem. Based on the findings, Jackson’s financial trouble is due to a lack of internal control. This internal weakness has exposed the hospital to several threats, thus created a serious impediment to remain at a competitive advantage. Meanwhile, Jackson’s close competitors, including Mount Sinai Medical Center and Baptist Health South have had great outcomes. Both competitors have been successful in the health industry and have strived to remain at a competitive advantage while Jackson struggled its way through. The research revealed that Jackson have had issues in several areas such as patient revenues, operating expenses, and several lawsuits; which all ties to their profit loss. Yet, Jackson has demonstrated internal strengths in leading, organizing, and planning.…

However, the university offers different professional programs to develop students within the allotted time and still create a culture of experiences and campus life beyond the classroom. Jackson Memorial Hospital has several weaknesses which are similar to its competitors and other health care organizations. There are many resources available that Jackson Memorial can access to avoid further issues with poor strategic and internal control planning. Both Strategic planning and internal control are paramount in all organizations. Internal control is only effective if well established and properly monitored. Organizations without an internal control in place are at high risk for fraud. We can conclude that together the internal control and strategic planning intertwine to improve an organization’s overall…
This paper analyzes the strategies and recommendations to improve the financial performance of Middlefield Hospital. The problem started when the chief financial officer (CFO) indicated that the financial performance of the hospital has been deteriorating over the last 6 months. Hospitals throughout the world are operating on tight budgets. Therefore operational managers must find ways to reduce cost and “manage productivity across all areas and job categories” (Langabeer, 2008, p. 129). There are many factors contributing to this problem: The hospital is exceeding its budget, the new facility across town has continued to cut into Middlefield’s market share by admitting more patients, and the number of admissions to the hospital is declining each month, while more uninsured patients are seeking services at the facility.…

In this task, in result to a National Health Care Association being concerned about the shortage of nurses, I have a sample of 50 nurses degree of satisfaction in relation to work, pay and opportunities for promotion. This sample showed their degree of satisfaction on a scale from 0 to 100 from nurses from 3 different types of hospitals: Private, Veterans Administration and University. I have analysed this data to create results to better understand the current degree of job satisfaction amongst nurses and what hospitals have the best and worst job satisfaction in regard to each sector. I can then use my findings to gain a clear understanding of what the National Health Care Association can do to prevent a shortage of nurses for the future.…
Healthcare industry is in a lot of pressure to improve patient safety, increase efficiency, reduce medical errors, and provide access to patients to information while keeping costs low and adhering to policies.
