He started with wrestling where he won numerous state of Idaho titles in is weight division. He then played baseball and fell in love with the sport. He started playing on a traveling baseball team, where he won many tournaments and honors in both Utah and Idaho, and continued to love playing with his teammates and coaches. He also loved to play football and basketball. He had many teammates and friends that remember him as the fun-loving, hard-working, competitive leader that he was. He was also actively involved in his church and community where he participated in scouting.
At school, Jace was always a hard-worker and leader. He loved math and reading. He read many novels and books in grade-school and was in the gifted and talented program in the Blackfoot School District. In first grade, he was honored with the Presidential Award for both academic success and leadership. His accomplishments continued throughout middle school where he was honored by being on the National Junior Honor Society High Honor Role. He continued to excel in reading and math, but his least favorite subject was always language and
