THE FIRST ONE IS SALVATION

Jesus paid a debt He did not owe, because we owed a debt we could not pay. Our part is simply to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ to be saved. I Peter 3:18, "For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God. “Being put to death in the flesh but quickened by the spirit. Yes, Christ is the just, who had to die for us the unjust, so that it would be possible for us to be brought back to God. Because of the death and suffering of Christ for us, God can now be just in saving us.
I Peter 2:24, "Who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness: by whose stripes you were healed." Jesus has personally paid the price for our sins, so that we can be made righteous before God. … When a person is made righteous, by obeying God's plan to save man, God will then save him.

When we pray as Christ taught us we find ourselves saying, “Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.” When the will of God is obeyed, the kingdom, the reign of God is made present. It is easier to say this than it is to enact it. Every time I sin I put the kingdom of God away from me: but God’s will cannot be thwarted. It is up to me to remain within God’s kingdom, for if the gates close while I am without I will find myself in the eternal darkness where there is wailing and gnashing of teeth. And as Christ warns us, “But of that day and hour no one knows.” (Mt…

Throughout the Bible, Jesus makes it clear that we are to be Christ-like and our attitudes should be the same as his. Jesus freely put his rights aside, in order to become a human, to serve the needs of mankind. Which made him submissive to death. However, while he was on the cross, Jesus Christ’s humility is exemplified because he bore an agonizing death that consisted of humiliation, in order to provide our requirements.…

This brings me to my final point. We are saved from our sins by faith. When we hear the gospel, we must have faith and believe that the word is true. Then must trust in the Lord our God, fully. The final act involves repentance. This does not just merely mean to feel sorry for what we have done. We have to actually have a “change of mind” and turn from our wicked…

Salvation is much more than just words uttered. True faith in Jesus, and Him alone, and repentance is what is taught in the New Testament. Emphasis on repentance is forefront of the message of John the Baptist, Peter, and Jesus. Fay’s question number 5 puts importance on John 1:12, “But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, the gave the right to become children of God.” Fay writes, “I cannot emphasize how important prayer is at this moment.” More could be added to the 4th question, “Are you willing to surrender your life to Jesus Christ.” This would be the appropriate area to add more details concerning repentance in this student’s…
