Is It Morally Permissible To Kill One Innocent Person Essay
I think there are few cases where it is morally permissible to kill one innocent person in order to save other innocent people’s lives. In the case of War, the soldiers are trained to kill people that they think are dangerous to others regardless, if they are innocent or dangerous. They do this to protect other people’s lives that is their job. Another reason would be if you were forced into a life or death situation and you could sacrifice one life to save other lives. We are taught that it is never morally acceptable to kill another person regardless of our reasoning of wanting to do it. Killing is deemed unethical. There are few situations where society might think it is morally acceptable to kill others, being at War is one of them. If a person is approaching a soldier, and doesn’t comply with orders to surrender they are killed with no questions asked. If the killing isn’t for protection against a bigger evil, I don’t think it is permissible to kill However, if I had to choose to kill one person in my family to save the rest, there is no way in my mind that I would think that this is morally permissible. Even if it were the only way to save myself, I wouldn’t want to do it because I know it is wrong. The consequence for not killing them would end in death of all of my family members, and that would be considered the morally right thing to
