Is Google Making USupid Analysis

Is Google, the internet, and technology making us as a society stupid? This is a hard question to answer yes or no to. Nicolas Carr answers “My mind isn’t going—so far as I can tell—but it’s changing. I’m not thinking the way I used to think.” It’s Agreeable that Google, the internet, and technology are not necessarily making us stupid, rather changing our thought patterns and processes. So much information is available with the click of a button, but just because people have access to billions or articles, media, and online books doesn’t mean we take it all in. Humans think differently when using the internet.

We are so reliant on the internet to deliver us basically everything. It’s rare that a household wont have WI-FI. As a society we rely too much the internet. This causes people to go out in the world less. Why go see a movie in a theater when its available to stream right in the living room. We are becoming lazy, this is also a cause of depression. The internet is also changing the way people think, as well as their cognitive thinking process. Our generation does not have as much advanced thinking skills as the generation before us. When a question is asked, or when research is being conducted; people use search engines to find all of the information as quickly as possible. This creates a mindset that the internet will do all of the thinking for a person. Essentially making the person lazy, and have the mindset that they can just look everything up online. This type of thinking is not productive, before the internet; when books were used as the main source of information, the person must read the book to find the desired information, which intern, could result in learning more information. More opportunities for deep thought are presented, therefore the person might understand and actually take in the information. With the internet people have the easy way out, they can look up answers for assignments or try and cheat off someone else’s essay. People are lazy, and the internet helps them become even lazier. The human brain is already a type of computer, but according to Bill out’s opinion “The Human brain is an outdated computer” now that google has artificial intelligence, humans will start to rely on the internet for all of their information and knowledge. We have become reliant on technology to teach us, and even think for us. Eventually the thinking process will be eliminated because humans will just google it. The biggest part of being human is our intelligence. The internet is effecting just that. We now rely so much on computers and other electronic devices to think for us. What happened to the good old days where people would read long books and appreciate deep conversations? In public people are always on the internet on their phones or tablets. On social media or taking funny pictures. Not paying attention to the world around them. The internet sucks people in and makes it difficult to get off. It’s sad that people would sit on their phone all day, when they could be enjoying life. It will be interesting to see how this changes the way people
