Fall 2015

This interview assignment is due October 23rd. It should be approximately 3 pages, double-spaced, 12 pt. font (any color/type). Select an international student you don't know either at all or too well. Arrange an interview. You should use at least 15 of the questions below. They are in no particular order. You need to arrange them so that they make sense and flow well. There are times when you probably will want to have follow-up questions. Also, you may use “Q & A” format for this assignment, but should include an introductory as well as a conclusion paragraph of substance. Have fun with this! You all thought of some great questions! In this paper I will have a detailed interview process laid out in order of focus. First, I am focusing my interview on the background of my partner and what motivates her to go to school and further her education. Secondly, I will ask her why she chose to specialize in her field of work and what are side hobbies or enjoyments that she does besides working towards her career goal. Lastly, I will be asking about her family and their views on education. I will be asking both linear and systemic questions to get my answers. I have looked up the meaning of linear and systemic questioning and their differences before writing out the questions I am using for Michele. I feel like this assignment has helped me to understand and recognize the difference in the questions being asked and which ones will give me a more detailed answer.…

On a cold Sunday morning, I conducted a short clinical interview with my friend Matt who enthusiastically agreed to be my test subject. Matt is a third-year advertising major here at UT-Austin. Because he is enrolled in the Moody College of Communication, he has only taken basic science and mathematics classes for non-majors. Therefore I wanted to see how someone with a different mathematics…

My goals in education are to develop an open mind to social complexities and to prove to future employers that I am a well rounded individual. Education is an everlasting experience, however Binghamton University offers me at least 4 years of a unique learning opportunity on how to interact with fellow peers, coaches, professors, and employers, all of whom are from different races, places, and religious, social, and political backgrounds. This school is composed of enough young adults, from all over the Northeast who can offer different narratives and help us open our minds to assimilation and pluralism and how our differences shape American society.…

To me, a hero is someone who can show courage when faced with a problem, Who Is able to help another in various ways, someone who is there to help others and gives them strength to go on through life’s difficulties. A hero could be someone who would give up his or her life so another could live. A hero does not always have to show courage, he can be afraid, but can still be a hero through his other actions. A hero could also be someone who has achieved something which people very seldom achieve. A hero could also be someone who helps with small things like helping others when they don’t understand,…
