INTRODUCTION

The internet has enabled faster access of information worldwide. It is the cheapest means to accessing any information. The internet is defined as a tool that can link up all the people in the world who have interconnected computers. We depend on the internet nowadays so much, with its convenience but again it can act as a weapon against us. Firstly In 1969,the US Department of Defense started a project to allow researchers and military personnel to communicate with each other in an emergency. The project was called ARPAnet and it is the foundation of the Internet Through out the 1970's, what would later become the Internet was developed. While mostly military personnel and scientists used it in its early days, the advent of the World Wide Web in the early 1990's changed all that. Today, the Internet is not owned or operated by any one entity. This worldwide computer network allows people to communicate and exchange information in new ways.

HISTORY: Internet was conceived by the advance research projects Agency (ARPA) opf the US government in 1969 and was first known as APRA net. The original aim was to create a network that would allow users of research at one university to be able to “talk” research computer at the other universities. A side benefit of APRAS net was that because message could be routed or routed in more than one direction, the network could continue to function even iof the parts of it were destroyed in the event of a military attack or other disaster.

FEATURES OF INTERNET:

The Internet is an extraordinary entertainment and learning tool that may be utilized in a number of modes to increase the ability of a user to collect information. The principal components of the Internet are the World Wide Web (WWW) and e-mail. With the passage of time, the Internet has become the most effective business tool in the

Back in the early 1960s’, ARPANET was created by many sophisticated engineers, computer scientists, and mathematicians. The ARPANET design allowed computers to connect, run on different operating systems, and without ARPANET, the Internet wouldn't look or behave the way it does today, it may not even exist. As technology advanced technicians began making advancements with combing the ARPANET network to the Satellite Network (SATNET). The technical term for the connection between the networks is inter-networking or better known today for many as the Internet. In 1990, Tim Berners-Lee developed a system designed to simplify navigation on the Internet which became known as the World Wide Web. As the years went by, and as the technology advanced so did the internet search engines. Microsoft's full scale entry into the browser, server, and Internet Service Provider market completed the major shift over to a commercially based…

The internet has made the lives of society in general, easier. The only question is, what are we giving up and sacrificing in order to have this luxury? It is undeniable that there are many negative aspects of the internet, and that they affect our lives daily. However, what people tend to overlook is the effect it is having on our businesses. By cutting out many social activities and introducing unethical principals into people's lives, it is in turn, hurting businesses. This is all besides the fact that companies rely on it to run their operations far more than they should and that it has cost many people their jobs, for their profession is now obsolete or because the competition was too great. Therefore, I believe it is up to society as a whole to do something about these problems and come up with a solution.…

The history of the Internet began with the development of electronic computers in the 1950s. The public was first introduced to the concepts that would lead to the Internet when a message was sent over the ARPANet from computer science Professor Leonard Kleinrock's laboratory at University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), after the second piece of network equipment was installed atStanford Research Institute (SRI). Packet switched networks such as ARPANET, Mark I at NPL in the UK, CYCLADES, Merit Network, Tymnet, and Telenet, were developed in the late 1960s and early 1970s using a variety of protocols. The ARPANET in particular led to the development of protocols for internetworking, in which multiple separate networks could be joined together into a network of networks.…

The origins of the Internet date back to research commissioned by the United States government in the 1960s to build robust, fault-tolerant communication via computer networks.[1] While this work, together with work in the United Kingdom and France, led to important precursor networks, they were not the Internet. There is no consensus on the exact date when the modern Internet came into being, but sometime in the early to mid-1980s is considered reasonable.[2] From that point, the network experienced decades of sustained exponential growth as generations of institutional, personal, and mobile computers were connected to it.…
