Instructional video games (IVG): NEEDS REVISION

A game that provides educational value to the player is called an educational video game. Educational games are games explicitly designed with educational purposes, or which have incidental or secondary educational value. All types of games may be used in an educational environment. Educational games are games that are designed to teach people about certain subjects, expand concepts, reinforce development, understand an historical event or culture, or assist them in learning a skill as they play.

Software of this kind is not structured towards school curricula, does not normally involve educational advisors, and does not focus on core skills such as literacy and numeracy.

The benefits of instructional educational video games will be extending into higher education. Ludology, scholastic video game study from a humanistic perspective, now qualifies students to pursue careers in computer and video game design and programming.

Researchers have started developing gamified learning method to understand the physiology and anatomy of the human beings in medical education. Armed with that information, if we take a look at what the PC and instructional video gaming has to offer, video games help kids learn and never get addicted to it but to promote thinking and understanding the lesson units from the curriuclum. The Instructional Video Game (IVG) promotes the horizon of mental ability through creative potentials. A large amount of studies have been conducted arguing that games “teach” students to “learn” concepts while playing and connections are made just by playing a game.

The education system must aim at producing not only creative individuals in science and technology, but must also succeed in imbibing the spirit, quality, knowledge, wisdom and character of our ancestors, who were original thinkers, visionaries and persons of integrity.

Steps in the creation of Video Games
Video games are created differently. Some use intense coding and graphic designs while others are simply created with a little coding and simple paint graphics. It can be created as a 3D unity interactive, animated instructional video game. After deciding on a basic game concept, writers and artists work on a storyboard, designers create the characters and the environment and programming code is written.
