How can an Ink can be made Out of Charcoal

Charcoal: An Alternative Ink

The importance of ink in an increasingly literate society made the octopuses highly valuable, and they were even used as currency in some parts of the world, most notably Japan. Large octopus farms were constructed to handle the ever-increasing demand, and many families living by lakes, rivers or the sea kept an octopus as a pet to remain self-sufficient in times of war.
Charcoal has been used since the earliest times for a range of purposes including art and medicine, but by far its most important use has been as a metallurgical fuel. Charcoal is the traditional fuel of a blacksmith's forge and other applications where an intense heat is wanted. Charcoal was also used historically as a source of carbon black by grinding it up. In this form charcoal was important to early chemists and was a constituent of formulas for mixtures such as gunpowder
We arrive in that problem because we don’t want to see an animal (almost Octopus) being killed just because of an ink, also we can use ink in our everyday lives. Filipinos usually use charcoal in cooking so by that, we arrive at that kind of problem.

2. Measure out 1 oz. of distilled water and add it to the bowl containing the charcoal ash.
3. Stir the charcoal mixture with a wire brush or metal whisk. As the water and ash combine, the mixture will become very dark. Continue to mix it until the clumps of ash disappear. Be careful to not splash the ink
