Ink and Paper Communication
INK & PAPER COMMUNICATION People say that the art of letter writing is dead. But my idea of heaven is writing a letter to a dear friend in a far away town, a note to my cousin saying “ thankyou ” for the dinner we had this weekend, a fan letter to the writer whose story I read and admired. I love to write something, be it a short story, a poem, a serious article or just letters. It is so magical to gather the right words and put them together on the paper… I write a couple of letters a day, and suffer from bouts of guilt, thinking I may perhaps be over burdening my friends and relatives with my written material. Letters have been very important in my life, those that I have written and received. I have treasured the ones which are very dear to me, to read them again and again reveling in the magical spell they cast on me every time unfolding something new. It was a hobby that started from my childhood, when I wrote letters to my school friends, teachers, relatives and strangers as well. I std lX, when suddenly half the nation was consumed by the passion of acting, I too was one of them. I wrote my first fan letter to the great ‘Amitabh Bachchan’ and received from him a typed reply and his autographed photograph. His letter, the special handmade greeting card, and the letters written by my friends are the most treasured possession. Recently when I revealed my letter writing habbit to my friend, I was told, ”but my dear, no one writes letters anymore! Where’s the time?” Agreed! I know people who never write letters for whom its just a waste of time. How easy it is to reach for the telephone type a few digits and talk to person miles away from you… no pondering over thoughts no addressing of envelopes and no waiting for response. No doubt, the telephone is more efficient and instant but I doubt whether it is, on the whole as effective as a letter. Letters have a certain power, your heartbeat ticks rhythmically with every comma and a full stop… you can

Gemma had an opportunity to learn how to print letters, using a letterpress, after switching from law studies to creative arts. The passage “Why I Write,” wrote by Terry Tempest Williams, expressed the author’s feelings in a very unique way. Nowadays, within the development of science and technology, we could have extremely high definition cameras. However, photos can only show the scene, and the one thing that it cannot do is to record our moods and feelings at that jiff. Writing could be a wise choice to record every second of precious moments with our delicate emotions, and there are innumerable reasons that could motivate us to get started.…

I love writing because you can write anything your heart desires. I love how it is a way to communicate with other people. When I was in first grade my teacher whose name has escaped my memory, taught my class how to write in cursive a year early. I loved the way the letters curved and swirled on paper. A desire to write and write anything was sparked by the fact that I thought cursive was pretty. But in first grade I was mostly writing vocab words and not essays so I had not yet discovered its power to communicate. Today, I love writing because I can share my opinion with the world. I see that writing gives me the power to make a difference and all people have to do is read…

I am writing this quick letter to introduce myself and tell you a bit about my accomplishments and aspirations as a writer. I won't say that writing is in my blood or my genes or anything like that, but I will say that I do have an insatiable urge to write. I cannot say, but I definitely feel that writing is a passion of mine that I greatly enjoy. It is an urge that can only be satisfied and, even then, only temporarily, by stringing words together into a narrative. Ultimately, I greatly enjoy writing, although I do not consider myself to be stellar at it; I would call it a passion more than anything else.…

I don't have much to say about writing for myself. Writing doesn't mean much to me. I am not a writer. I am an orator. However, writing does mean something to my wife. I love my wife. She loves to write. She spends hours a day writing. I watch words flow from her fingertips as she writes page after page. She doesn't let me read much of what she writes, but when she does, I can see the passion and the joy that she has for what she writes about. I wish that I could write with such a fire.…

    My Writing Style Analysis

    • 969 Words
    • 4 Pages

The Nature of a person's writing style can sometimes show more about an individual then the words they actually write, the poetic twists in sentence flow or the professional structure of their grammar. Writing styles are as unique as fingerprints and to define them can be as arduous as mastering the skills required to properly form one. In the quest to define my own style I discovered a detail that I have determined encapsulates the style with which I write; I write with passion. When I say I am a passionate writer I don't mean that I love to write but more that my level of personal affection toward the subject I am writing on directly affects the emotional nature I write in. In other words, I write more expressively and artistically the…
