In the 20th century, the Earth's temperature rose about one degree Fahrenheit, but in the past thirty years it has gone up 3 degrees. (Planet it Peril) These warm temperatures can have dramatic effects on the planet. The polar ice caps will eventually melt, which will flood all low lying areas around the world. Some other effects are that people are dying due to heat, more and worse hurricanes are occurring, and toxic plants, animals, and insects are migrating to places they've never been before. (Adapting to a New Reality) Global warming is an immediate problem that is threatening the…

Global Warming is unleashing health problems through the world. These affects are expected to worsen if great changes aren’t taking place. More people are dying now from all the heat being released. Natural disasters are beginning to become a problem worldwide. Without a severe change more heat waves, rain storms, tropical cyclones, and surges in sea level will occur frequently.…

Global warming is a resultant of Heat-trapping gases in the atmosphere. The release of these gases has increased in the last 500 years since the industrial revolution. There is an expectation that global warming will result to rising sea levels, droughts, fires, heat waves, extreme storms, heavy rainfall, floods, and melting of snow and ice. These changes as envisaged would affect agriculture and general food availability with devastating consequences for existence of life on earth. In additional, life would change completely because many systems are tied to the climate. For example, temperature changes would affect breeding cycle of insect, and this has implications on pollination and food availability for humans. Although short-term weather variations are normal and expected, long-term changes are deleterious to the environment and life on earth (Houghton, 2004).…

It is becoming more and more evident that global warming is rapidly taking a toll on our earth. The effects can clearly be seen through increases in global average air and ocean temperatures, widespread melting of snow and ice caps, and rising global average sea level. According to the Environmental Protection Agency, Earth’s average temperature has risen by 1.4 degrees Fahrenheit over the past century and will rise another two degrees (at the least) in the coming century. This temperature increase is primarily caused by the greenhouse effect which is caused by increasing concentrations of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. Such greenhouse gasses include water vapor, carbon dioxide, methane, and nitrous oxide (Climate Change 2007, 3).…

Glaciers are melting, sea levels are rising, cloud forests are drying, and wildlife is scrambling to keep pace. Its becoming clear that humans have caused most of the pat century’s warming by releasing heat-trapped gases as we power our modern lives, called Greenhouse Gases, their levels are higher now than in the last 650,000 years. We call the result global warming and it is causing a set of changes to the earth’s climate. As the earth spins each day, the new heat swirls with it, picking up moisture over the oceans, rising here, settling there. It’s changing the rhythms of climate that all living things have come to rely on. What will we do to slow this warming? How will we cope with the changes we’ve already sent into motion? While we struggle to figure it all out earth hangs in balance. Global warming is real and is destroying our planet. We as inhabitants need to stop it! Today we will look at what global warming really is and what its’ effects are.…

From every bite of our meal, there is always a repercussion to our Mother Nature. Global warming is from the greenhouse gases that has been a significant concern to our daily lives. The high temperature record number keeps increasing while the low temperature record number keeps decreasing ever since the industrial revolution prospered (Macmillan). The influence of global warming is slowly affecting the food production by the greenhouse gases emitted from animal farm production, thus, leading to an economic loss and great starvation especially in Sub-Saharan Africa. Southern States of America are also likely to suffer from global warming, however, it would be able to address the calamity quickly unlike Sub-Saharan Africa.…

Global warming to some individuals is something fake that others say. However, global warming is a threat to us. Most people think of this as a scientific fantasy, but it can be a huge danger for later generations. We can’t be egocentric and only think about us. Global warming isn’t only effecting us, but it’s also effecting animals. Some species might even go extinct because of global warming. We need to do something to prevent or at best slow the process down a bit. I believe it’s vital that we try to prevent because if the oceans keep rising they will take up the land we live. We need to invent technologies that can help us survive this; some countries such as Netherlands have done that. Preventing climate change will be difficult, but it’s…

The facts about global warming are often debated in politics and the media, but, unfortunately, even if we disagree about the causes, global warming effects are real, global, and measurable. The causes are mainly from us, the human race, and the effects on us will be severe.…
