How To Fire Artillery A. “I come in peace, I didn’t bring artillery. But I am pleading with you with tears in my eyes: If you fuck with me, I’ll kill you all.” (Marine Major General James “Mad Dog” Matis) B. Has anyone ever seen artillery or heard of it? C. For the past 4 years in the Marine Corps my main job was artillery. I have been trained in every aspect of the job and am very proficient in it. D. If you have never seen or know anything about artillery it’s a big part of the military and used in every war. So today I’m just going to let you know how it is fired and the process working up to it. E. Artillery may seem like a fairly easy thing to fire but truthfully its not so I will show you the three parts you need to fire it.
Body:
A. Forward Observer 1. Eyes of artillery 2. Starts the firing process 3. Consist of a 3-4 man team B. Fire Direction Control 1. Brains of artillery 2. Process all the information 3. Tells who to fire and what C. Gun line 1. Muscle of artillery 2. Loads the gun 3. Fires the gun
Conclusion:
A. To summarize we have learned the process of firing artillery through three steps being forward observers, Fire direction control, and the gun line. B. What you can possibly take away from this is that artillery might look easy but is actually a long process until everyone is proficient in there job C. Now even though you can’t do it alone at least you know about the process of shooting

The World Wars are inarguably some of the greatest conflicts in human history. With roots going back to the earliest years of the twentieth century, what is now known as the Army Air Defense Artillery branch played an integral role in the Second World War. Initially called the Coast Artillery Corps, rebranded as the Anti-Aircraft Artillery, and finally becoming the Air Defense Artillery, the branch maintains a storied history of action through several key battles of World War II. The basis for modern Air Defense Artillery technology and operations, and for strategies to overcome current challenges, can be found by examining how the Coast Artillery Corps and Anti-Aircraft Artillery shaped these key battles.…

The Artillery of the Potomac Army at Gettysburg, achieved victory through the “King of Battle” and integration of the Union maneuver commanders (Steve, 2014). Combat experience demonstrated seasoned leadership. The superiority of the Union artillery over their confederate counterparts was not only the number of guns employed, but also, it was the manner of how the Union commanders employed the artillery under their command (Steve, 2014). Proper integration of assets can determine the battlefield in moments. Hence, the concept of today’s utilization of artillery supporting the maneuver elements, has not drastically changed.
