Influences On Johann Mendel's Life
On July 20th, 1822 in the Austrian Empire, Johann Mendel was born. During his lifetime, he did not know he would be destined to become one of the most influential people in the growth of biology.
Since he was a young boy he was interested in plants, trees, and fruit. Because of his interests, he went into school and religion instead of staying at his family farm. Mendel attended a school where students were highly influenced to study natural sciences and how to grow fruit.
While his time as a Monk starting at the age of 21, he tended to the garden of the monastery and before he lead the monastery, he monitored, cultivated and tested tens of thousands of pea plants between the years 1856 and 1863. Mendel created hybrids of two pea plants to
