Bookmyshow is the only web-site in India that sells tickets on behalf of multiple cinemas. You can search for listings, select the time and the cinema and buy tickets all on one web-site. Bigtree Entertainment founded in 1999, is India’s premier comprehensive entertainment ticketing applications and analysis solutions provider.
With an investment by the Network18 Group, BIGTREE ENTERTAINMENT PVT LTD has launched an aggregator service called www.bookmyshow.com – A Movie & Entertainment ticketing service. This allows film goers & entertainment seekers to book tickets for movies, plays & live events across sales channels.
EXECUTION
It targets high affinity fans of movie/movie stars and offers them paid/unpaid content. It offers to download movie goodies like ringtone downloads wallpapers and more. Using analytics, it identified that ticket bookings were highest between Wed to Sat. Hence, campaigns are run only on these days. Contextual messages targeted at consumers on movie review sites
The main aim was to establish Bookmyshow.com as top of mind movie ticketing destination and at the same time operate within a stringent cost constraint. Key challenges that are faced by Bookmyshow.com are: Perishable inventory- as they have a short campaign cycle since average movie shelf life is 2 weeks

With short campaign cycles, it was but natural to grab as many eyeballs as possible in a short duration, which is why they came up with an SEM campaign that targeted consumers on relevant websites.

The main mantra of their success is that it works with online media, elect the time and the cinema and buy tickets all on one web-site.

Its segment is on internet users looking for event ticketing solutions. Its target group is Internet users utilizing services to perform online transactions like buying tickets. It has positioned itself as the India’s largest ticketing website.
