india of 21st century
INDIA OF 21ST CENTURY
Nineteenth century, it is said, was the best time to be a British and 20th century to be an American. No doubt, 21st century is the best period to be an Indian. Never before was the level of confidence in us so high, in spite of the rich heritage and past glories, as it is today.
A very good afternoon to you all worthy president, secretary, learned judges and all my dear friends. Today in this declamation competition the topic I have chosen to declaim is ‘’INDIA OF 21ST CENTURY’’.
Awake to freedom, long year ago we have made a tryst with the destiny and now the time comes when we shall redeem our pledge not wholly or not in a full measure but very substantially.
At the stroke of this midnight our when the world sleeps, india will awake to the life and freedom .A moment comes which comes but very rarely in history when we step out from the old to the new, then an age ends and the soul of the nation which is long suppressed finds utterance .it is fitting that at this solemn moment we are taking the pledge of full dedication to the country and its people and far more better cause of humanity.
And these words of our first honorable prime minister pt.jawahar lal Nehru on the very first night of India’s independence revolutionized every heart of India to begin with the fresh start . Their dedication and the most important belief, brought India on the verge of developed nation.
Gone are the days when India was seen as a country of snake charmers, rope tricks and pompous maharajas; it is now being seen as a country producing entrepreneurs, efficient doctors and IIT-ians.
Our country has made tremendous progress after independence and we have very optimistic picture of it. If we compare the progress of last decades with the country that India was at the close of the 20th century, we would wonder at the difference.

India is surrounded by every possible social, economical and political issue along huge potential. The president of the USA, Barak Obama in his recent visit to India said that India is not developing, it is developed. Indeed India is a developed nation if we look into the GDP, government expenditure, few metro cities and life style of a branch of rich people. The people of India have built a strong image in the mind of foreigners who does not have access to the internal situation of this romantic country. It is accepted by all that this nation holds huge amount of capability for development. Lord Meghnad Desai, who argued, not without irony, that whatever else happens, “the government can still sit back and say 8.6 per cent”.…

India is the seventh largest country in the world where billions of people speak hundreds of languages and follow scores of religions and thousands of their sub-castes. This sounds great and we feel very proud of its culture, history and civilization. It has been 63 years since our motherland broke the shackles and unfettered herself from the colonial presence. These 63 years were not easy. Every day, every year has been a story of relentless hard work and perseverance of each and every Indian trying to carve out a niche for their motherland in the international platform. India has emerged as IT giant in the past years contributing significant revenue share to the Indian government. Instead of becoming dependent on commodities and exports, we invested in science and technology and in our greatest resource-the Indian people. And the world sees the results - from the supercomputers we build, to the Indian flag that we put on the moon. India has also emerged as an education and medical hub in recent years. We have the largest number of Science graduates in our country. India now plays a major role in world trade and commerce and advocates the welfare of developing countries. Instead of slipping into starvation, we launched a Green Revolution that fed millions. Indians are playing a crucial role in world politics too. Today, when nearly every country, including world’s superpower United States and many other European economic powers are reeling under worst economic crisis, India is one of the least affected countries over the world by the economic meltdown and is successful in maintaining a fast growth rate. India can play a major role in helping the world economy to survive this crisis. With its highest GDP growth rate after China, Indian economy is predicted to become the world’s fourth largest economy in 2020 and we can think of India to be a developed nation. The whole world is looking towards India as an emerging superpower…

Standard of living of all persons will rise. India will become a big exporting country in the coming century. She will not be in the need of taking loans from the World Bank. The country will be able to put a check upon rising of necessary commodities. The country will make great Progress in industry and agriculture will be modernised. No doubt we have not been able to check the over creasing population but there are indications that educated are increasingly taking to the advantages of small this makes clear that education should be spread among those who are very far from it.
