Increase Of Self-Medication In Iran
The increasing of self-medication is considered as one of the most important events in the healthcare system. The production and release of drugs is increasing and its annual increase is higher than the normal growth level (1, 2). World Health Organization (WHO) has estimated that approximately 40% of medical expenses are related to drugs (3). Self-medication can cause the bacterial resistance to antibiotics, non-optimal treatment, intended and unintended poisoning, the incidence of side effects of drugs consumed. According to previous studies, each Iranian people consumes 339 number of drugs annually which it is grater that than standard levels.
