Living on the west coast I am lucky to have had one of the best burger in the United States. You cannot go far on the west coast without stopping at an In N Out burger. The hamburger has always been an American delight; across the country there are many different restaurants that serve burgers. From the outside, In N Out welcomes you with a sleek sign that tells you right of the back they are fast at what they do. The sign has bold white lettering that says In N Out Burger, the font of the sign screams to you saying come her now. Going threw the sign there is an old-fashion yellow arrow that always point to the direction of the restaurant.
All of the In N Outs have the same white and red themed exterior; to me they are trying to have a classic 50s look. Many building in the 1950s are very straight cut and sleek. There are no rounded parts to In N Out the exterior is very boxy. Most In N Outs are built away from other stores and restaurants. This makes In N Out stand out from all the other fast food restaurants; you rarely see one connected to another building. The design of In N Outs drive thru usually lines up facing away any entrance, so it does not cause big line going out of the lot. When In N Out

opened in 1948 it was the first drive thru that had a 2-way radio to communicate with the customer. This was a game changer to the fast-food restaurant. There are always palm trees outside of In N Out; one themed they always do is make an X with two palm trees. The founder of In N Out favorite movie was, Stanley Kramer’s movie, It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World. In the movie there is a scene that show the character looking for treasure beneath a big “W” made of four palm trees, and the two middle ones form a big “X”. Now when you are looking for an In N Out if you see two palm trees forming an “X” you know that the treasure of In N Out is right next to it.
Outside of In N Out they have red tables with white and red patterned umbrella,

    There are two major fast food restaurants that people choose. One is McDonald’s; the other one is IN-N-OUT. Between McDonald’s and IN-N-OUT, there are some similarities and differences. The first similarity is price. You can buy a combo meal including a hamburger, a pack of french fries, and a soda. Both their price are no more than 10 dollars. Another major similarity is management. Not only McDonald’s but also IN-N-OUT, there are lots of chain stores everywhere in America. Despite these similarities, the two fast food restaurants differ in some ways. First, it is the freshness of the food. At McDonald’s they cook food before the customer comes. On the other hand, at IN-N-OUT they cook food after the customer comes to order. So the food at IN-N-OUT is fresher than At McDonald’s. A final difference is secret menu. At McDonald’s all foods you can order are on the menu. However, at IN-N-OUT not all foods are on the menu. On their menu, they are just cheeseburger, double cheeseburger, hamburger, french fries, and soda. It seems that too less kinds of food are provided. Yet it’s not truth. In fact, there are other foods like wish burger, Animal Style Fries, Flying Dutchman, Protein Style, etc you can eat. All in all, there are some similarities and differences I have noticed between McDonald’s and IN-N-OUT. Some people like McDonald’s; some people like IN-N-OUT. That’s all right.     McDonalds and Checkers A burger and fries are two of my favorite foods; everyone loves some type of burger (unless they are a vegetarian). The residents of our city are lucky restaurants specializing in burgers are plentiful. Most people that I have come across consider McDonalds as being the best when compared to Checkers. Although both serve wonderful burgers, the differences in the menu and the overall atmosphere set them apart from one another, making McDonalds the leading burger place. Checkers was founded in 1986. Although it has not been around as long as McDonalds, it is still a good place to eat. Unlike McDonalds, Checkers does not have a large selection of dollar foods, only the Checker Burger. The dollar menu may exist at McDonalds, but the 79 cent menu exists only at Checkers. This menu includes plain burgers, regular hot dogs, and milk shakes. You can get a bite to eat and a good cool down for under a buck. One thing that Checkers has that McDonalds does not have is those delicious chili-cheese fries. No one makes them better. When you dine in at McDonalds you are coming into an elegant place in which you can get loud and enjoy yourself. Kids that come to McDonalds love the fact that it has a place just for them, the Play Place. While parents are ordering food, the children can have a good time playing in the secured play area. Checkers is drive-thru burger place only, so it does not have an inside dining area. Checkers also does not have a place for kids to play. If you care to sit at checkers to eat, then you will have to dine outside. McDonalds and Checkers may be different in many ways, but they are similar as well. If you want great burgers and good tasting fries, then these two places are the best. They provide you with food items for a dollar or less and enable you to get it and go at the drive-thru.     Once I entered the restaurant, I was met by the aroma of grilling hamburgers and other foods, which is not usually the norm in other fast food restaurants, where food is mostly micro waved. The interior of the restaurant is well designed, spacious to allow many people to be served at the counter without much congestion.     The Roberto's on Harmon is adjoined with three other eateries behind a gas station in a strip mall type design. The parking lot was littered with trash, most of it seemed to be food wrappers from the Subway next door, burrito wrappers from Roberto's, or drink napkins from the bar adjoined to Roberto's.
