Important Qualities of a Co-worker
Mankind has lived in groups ever since its appearance to survive and nowadays work together to accomplish different objectives more efficiently and flawlessly. Thus, each member in a group has to have important qualities as a co-worker. Responsibility, cooperativeness and respect are the key qualities of a co-worker that improve the performance of the group. First of all, responsibility is an important quality that co-workers should have. Each member should have their own task to complete. Otherwise, everyone could get in trouble due to one person's lack of responsibility. Moreover, one should feel responsible for what happens to the group and become involved within instead of being a free rider and doing nothing. We would be able to call people with the aforementioned qualities a good "co-worker." Secondly, cooperation between the group members is essential. Each member actively presenting new ideas and contributing to the group will allow them to discuss and choose what is best for them. In addition, a co-worker must not act independently and work as a group. A group as a whole is larger than the sum of individuals, which is why being cooperative is an important quality of a co-worker. Lastly, an important quality of a co-worker is having respect for other members. Respect is necessary especially when you're working with co-workers. Having good manners, harmonizing with others and paying attention to their different opinions is important for a peaceful atmosphere in the workplace. For these reasons, respect is an essential quality of a co-worker. When working in groups, good co-workers show responsibility in their duties to produce better results and show enthusiastic attitude with cooperation. They also don’t have conflictions with other members because they respect different opinions. These are the qualities of a good co-worker.

    Types of Co-Workers

    • 407 Words

Based on my working experience, co-workers who I have worked with can be classified into four types. The first type, I call the commoner. This kind of co-workers is typically a good person and he or she usually causes very little trouble. This type of co-worker is friendly, helpful and usually participated in every meeting. If I get along with this type is generally a breeze, tasks would be finished on time. When I worked in a project and they were my team member, it was grateful for working at least. I could rely on him or her tasks and pieces of tasks were not procrastinated. The second type of co-workers is the complainer. This kind of these people typically is annoying the work environment. I found that they were also the gossiper somehow. Some people in this group might work less than talking because their attention was about people and the working systems instead of thinking about any kinds of solutions. The important thing was I had to be aware of their gossiping due to the consequences and the limits of the relationship with them. The third type of the co-worker is the competitor, he or she has a lot of ambition and typically love showing off any performances to other colleagues and bosses in the meeting. I found in my last company, she might be well-known and tried to get involved in any activities of company. Sometimes I felt like I was in a national competition with her. But if she got a promotion ahead, the escalator would be needed for me. The last type is the workaholic, they usually come early and leave out the office late. In my case, when we had lunch with them, they were likely to talk about work things. Although this kind of co-worker did not seem conflicting, a workaholic could actually be difficult to work with. Some people in this group might be perfectionists, but some did not seem working smart people and also were tardy workers. Even though four types of co-workers are not all types that people may face in all places, those are generally…

One's team model is team nursing. Team nursing is a system of integrated care that was developed in 1950s (under grant from W.K. Kellogg Foundation) directed by Eleanor Lambertson at Teachers College, Columbia Universityin New York, NY. Because the functional method received criticism, a new system of nursing was devised to improve patient satisfaction. “Care through others” became the hallmark of team nursing. It was developed in an effort to decrease the problems associated with the functional model of nursing care. Many people felt that, despite a continued shortage of professional nursing staff, a patient care delivery model had to be developed that reduced the fragmented care that accompanies functional nursing.…
