The skills I find to be the most important in life and education are the following, and why they are important. Organization is a very important skill to have. It allows you to be more efficient and get more work done in less time. You’re able to find things that you want, it also helps when you want to impress someone. Time Management is the ability to separate the important from the unimportant, which is a much needed skill in all walks of life, especially where there are ever increasing opportunities and distractions. Problem- solving is where we all have to make decisions. Whether you 're a student, a parent, a businessperson, or the president of the United States, you face problems every day that need solving. Relationship networking in a world dominated by constant innovation and information exchange, relationship networking creates the channel through which ideas and information flow, and in which new ideas are shared, discussed and perfected. A large relationship network, carefully cultivated, can be leveraged to meet the right people, find jobs, build businesses, learn about new trends, spread ideas, etc. Self- Discipline is the ability to focus and overcome distractions. It involves acting according to what you think instead of how you feel in the moment. It often requires sacrificing the pleasure and thrill for what matters most in life. Therefore it is self-discipline that drives you to succeed in the long-term. In my life I believe that I have most of the skills I listed above. Organization is one that in my life has helped me so much. When I was younger my mom always kept a clean and organized home. I believe that’s where I get a lot of organization from. As of right now I am in school and also have a full-time job. With going in so many directions I have to keep organized when it comes

The abilities an individual possesses are an accumulation of their previous life experiences and the various competences which have been practiced for many years. Often times, these skills are overlooked and taken for granted as we never actually think about them in terms of their effect on our potential career choices. After thinking about my personal skills, I compiled a list which included; communication, cooperation, patience, listening, helping others and perseverance; all skills which I have possessed for majority of my lifetime and have used to overcome many challenges. One example in particular which required me to draw on many of these skills, was fairly recently; I am a dance instructor for children ages four to seven and there was a young boy who joined the class later than the rest of the students. I noticed that he was struggling…

It seems in the society we live in today, having a college degree is a necessity. Years ago it was the norm for people to just go right into a full time job after high school, if they even finished high school; they did this to support their families. In today's society a person has a difficult time getting a decent job without a college degree. During an adults working life, bachelor degree graduates will earn about $2.1 million and a high school graduate can expect to earn an average of $1.2 million (Day and Newburger, 2002). This is quite a difference and it puts a college education in perspective. With college come the skills needed to be successful.…

I have few talents that will help me in the pursue of my dreams. Organization is one of those talents, since I was very little, I was very organize, and methodic. Problem solver is another talent that I have, when there is a problem, I’m the first one to analyze and try to find possible solutions. Last but not least, being self sufficient is another of my strongholds, if there is no help; I always find the ways to resolve the problems on my own.…

Out of all of these skills my strengths are self-motivation, thinking strategically, and flexibility. The ones I think need to be further developed are interpersonal skills, because even though I have no problem getting along with people I sometimes tend to stick more to myself than socializing with others, and being inquisitive because I don 't usually ask many questions. I gained self-motivation recently when I realized my liberal arts degree wasn’t going to get me anywhere and that I was the only one who could change it.. I think that I am always thinking big picture rather than just the moment. I…

The ability to push through in tough times and still achieve your goal. When Dr. Christiansen talks about how self-esteem and confidence has to be developed when you were young. My parents could not have agreed more. In my parents’ house there was no such thing as the easy route. And you had to work hard for every penny you earned. There were times when I would look at others, and their parents weren’t pushing them as hard. However, when I look at where they are and where I am. There really is no comparison. This caused to have the discipline to bunker down to study when I did not have an understanding of something, instead of going to a party that weekend. In my career choice entry level’s work long hours, and sometimes over the weekend to make deadlines. And career path to the top is a long one. With the perseverance I have developed from my home culture. I know the only limit is my…
