Jesus Christ performed numerous miracles throughout His ministry. The teachings about the Kingdom of God in the Lucan Parables are The Soils (Luke 8:5-8), The Mustard Seed (Luke 13:18-19), and The Yeast (Luke 13:20-21).
The Kingdom of God & yeast Jesus comes and starts to teach about the Kingdom of God. Jesus teaches in Parables, so the followers would understand it easier, and to confuse those that do not believe in Him. The growth of God 's Kingdom would expand eventually worldwide, like yeast expands throughout the lump of dough expands. The kingdom will start out very small, but will grow to be a huge kingdom. Those that do not believe in Jesus, will not see the kingdom. When it is time and Jesus returns, His followers will see the kingdom. The parables are for growth and they are all similar to the kingdom of heaven. The yeast remains unseen like the kingdom is unseen.
The Teachings of the Soils, Mustard Seed, and Yeast The purpose of the soils is to plant good and productive seeds. The seeds the farmer went to sow, most of the seeds fall on non-productive ground. The little seed that falls on good soil produces more than its share. Just because every seed does not fall on good soil and produce good crop, does not mean we should give up. We should continue to spread seed so it will produce good crop. The soils is where the truth is to be planted. Some of the seeds planted will bear fruit and some will not bear any. With faith as small as a mustard seed you can move mountains. The purpose the mustard seed and yeast would be to show how faith grow and expand both. “A mustard seed, parallels in the other Synoptic Gospels tell us, was considered by the Jews as the smallest of seeds.” (Wilson). “It is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his garden.
