Imperialism In The Late 19th Century
Imperialism is the action of a country expanding its power by the gain of territories. The U.S. was pushed toward a policy of international expansion, or policy of imperialism in the late nineteenth century because they felt that we must extend the countries borders in order to keep it running functionally. By extending the borders of the country, this means we find new territories to claim and gain the power from those territories. Such as being able to use the natural resources from the area, and selling them. Adding on, by gaining more land you gain the more political power to eventually become superior.
