If You Ever Read This Know That You Changed Me Analysis
If You Ever Read This, Know That You Changed Me It's so hard to only feel one particular emotion for extended period of time. Life is symmetrically separated by a thin line, one side is beautiful and the other is full of horror. My life is not in any way symmetrical. The pieces are not split equally, there is no pattern, only different shapes stitched back together to form one again. I would not let anyone help put back the pieces of my life together, because I thought I’d mold myself. That's what I thought I could do, but certain people come into your life and change the way you view things. One person changed me and I believe the change was deeply rooted by the way he treated me, his positivity and how he treated others. Meeting people …show more content…
Approximately 6 months passed and we started talking again. I got to know him better and we easily became friends this time. Our friendship grew strong because we both play guitar, love photography and listened to the same music. Inclusively, he was a very outgoing person, a naturally gifted musician who I thought was the Kurt Cobain of this era. I use to laugh at that thought but he was actually really good at both drums and guitar. He once sent me a video of him playing a song he wrote and it said, “I hope to find the girl that's right for me, I can't wait to sing this to you”. Anytime I was sad he would cheer me up with songs. He treated me like no one else had ever treated me and always made it clear that I was very important to him. It was difficult to believe that a guy could treat a girl with respect, but he was definitely an exception and not the pervert I thought he was. Never did he mention anything out of the way, instead he was a gentleman, always making it clear that I was a big part of his life and that he cared for me endlessly. It was at that point that I started feeling strong emotions for this guy. Not planned or expected, but I tried to brush it off. I didn't need distractions and love only lead straight to heartbreak, but god, I falling for him and the way he treated …show more content…
He confessed that he had a crush on me as well. We were both shy and naïve but mostly afraid that confessing our feelings would ruin our friendship. We decided to give it a try and see how a long distance relationship would work out. After sometime we both decided to stay as friends in order to keep our friendship alive. It was a hard decision, but we knew it was the best thing for both of us. He was too scared of hurting me and it was hard not having him physically there for me. For the first time, I understood that although it hurt not being with him, his friendship was greater than anything else we could have

In the story ‘The Bass, the River, and Sheila Mant” the narrator was in love with Sheila Mant. He had always wanted to go out with her but never had the guts to do it. He finally one day got the nerve to ask her out on a date. Well they were on the date nothing went the way he wanted it to. When they got to the band and were ready to leave Sheila told the narrator she was going home with another boy. I connected to this because it had happened to me. I have always had a crush on one of my really good friends named Keegan but I don’t think he catches on. He has always been a very gentleman like with me. He is very nice and good-looking in my opinion. We were both invited to the same party and we met up there. A little later that night he left early to go hangout with other girls. Everyone asked me if I was mad, but I tried not showing my feelings. Both the narrator and I have gotten rejected so, I can relate to how he…

In Janelle Monáe’s “Hell You Talmbout” she talks about people living in poverty. She first starts with the first verse saying that in poverty there is a lot of violence, from bombs being thrown, guns being pulled out, and a body lying on the streets from police brutality. In the chorus she repeats “Now what the hell you talking ‘bout?” this could be seen as Janelle speaking to an outsider who does not see all the violence and poverty, while those who live in those conditions experience it every day. In the second verse, Janelle addresses the topic of how fast drugs are traveling in poverty and how they are stealing from one another to get money for drugs. In the line “the poor man eats off of the rich men’s dollar,” Janelle refers to how many…

When people enter into any new relationship, they come to the new with a lot of old fears and unhealed emotional wounds (Daniel Sugarman p757). For example, I had an ex-girlfriend that goes by the name Maria. She was the last girl that I was intimate with before my wife Anita. Maria and I went our separate ways, because she did not want permanent commitment for the second time. Therefore, I moved forward without her, because I was in search of a soul mate. Six months later, I met Anita while attending an Emergency Medical Technical course at Southwestern College. Ironically, we were taking the same course with similar backgrounds; prior work history in medical field. Shortly after, we became study partners, and then passionate companions. Six months later, we got married and had two beautiful girls. Ten years later, I received a friend request via Facebook from my ex-girlfriend Maria. Secretly, I accepted the request; therefore Anita would have been upset, if she found out about Maria. Three months passed and Anita is still not aware of my friendship with my ex-girlfriend Maria. Then one day, I forgot and left my Facebook account unlocked; Anita found out the wrong way. It was a day I will never forget; I could not sleep for weeks, because I would be reminded of my treachery. As a result, I closed my Facebook account and never spoke to Maria…

I remember after graduating high school I was at home applying to college. My little cousin was in elementary school she brought her assignment from her Christian religious study class and one of the question was "what did Jesus leave behind for us?" my little cousin said to me "what's the answer" I said "he left so many things behind for us to know that he came to this world he left the church and so many things." she said "I don't believe you at least he should have left something I can see and know he was and things he did on earth" I felt really sad I couldn't explain much to her…

He was just one year younger than me and his name was Santiago. Santiago expressed himself which I got jealous of because I was still shy on talking to people and getting to know them better. He really didn’t care what other people think and talked about things he knew or what talents he got. Till this day I still admire him for that. On those times I was a total jerk to him which I regret so much because when the years pass more and more he shuts his doors of trust in front of me. He became a very talented piano player and right next to him is the bass player, me, trying to catch up to him.…

I walk into the dull atmosphere classroom, pictures of present and past high school baseball players stare back at me. The marker board covered in scribbles of math and assignments that will soon be issued to us by the teacher. One look at the teacher and you can tell he wasn’t in the best of health. Starting with his overweight physic to his white, pasty skin, almost a bit discolored in some areas. It was soon discovered early in the year that he suffered from a heart deficiency. Yet, having constant road blocks enter his path, he continues to teach and peruse his passion. I rather much enjoyed that class, and there was one month left till until school was out. Students start to file into class; among them is a familiar but unacquainted face, Dan. Dan and I knew each other but neither of us had taken the time to traditionally acquaint ourselves and really talk. Dan had short golden blonde hair, pale white skin, which was making his acne more visible. He was tall and lanky with a friendly smile and attitude. That day he finally introduces himself and we begin to talk. My first impressions were that he was sweet yet a bit odd, referring to many people and myself as ‘love’. As well came off as ambitious and carefree, after having snuck out of class multiple times and just leaving for the day. As summer dawned closer and sophomore year was coming to an end, me and Dans friendship grew and we exchanged numbers. Summer began, weeks pass and we talk from time to time. Till one day while texting I ask if he had any big plans for the rest of summer. The reply I got was not what I expected. He told me that he was due to have brain surgery in a month or so. And as well, that that wasn’t the worst part, not only is his condition fatal if he doesn’t receive proper treatment, but that if the operation is successful that a side effect is that he will lose all memory of the last 4years of his life. At this point in the conversation my mind was racing trying…

At first, just like what I feel with other people during the first time of meeting them, I am hesitant to share my personal experiences, views or attitude with her (my best friend). When we were in grade 3 and I had a crush with one of our classmates, I was very much cautious about sharing it with other people, because I was afraid that if I will let other people know about what I feel, they might tell it to my crush. It is the idea that self-disclosure risks vulnerability. This experience is not just one of those childish things I had thought of because even until now, I still have the same mindset. It was only after a year, that my best friend happened to know about it. I decided disclosing it to her because the guy I had a crush with wasn’t our classmate anymore.…
