A good website should have content which is relevant to its audience, should be regularly updated, should be easy to find and easy to use. Use the following checklist when reviewing a website: City or Town | Links work. | Updated? | accessibility | breadcrumbs | mobile | citizens | — | | | | | 1. 2. Was the site easy to find with the keywords being used? 3. Does it provide the information you're looking for? 4. Are the links on the site current and working? Can you tell when the site or page was last updated? 5. Is there a keyword search on the site? 6. Does the site have good navigation? For example: * Is it easy to move around the site intuitively? * Are there good menus and different ways to access the information? * Is it easy to link to the information or do you have to scroll through long pages? * Are there breadcrumbs to assist? 7. Are there accessibility options? For example: * Can you adjust the text on the site? * Are there alternatives to text? * Is the site good with assistive technologies? * When you hover over an image does a description appear? * Is the information on the site available in different formats? * Is there a printable version of the information? 8. Can the site be displayed on another device for example a tablet or mobile? 9. Is the design good? – Do the colours and images highlight important areas or are they a distraction? Is the functionality of the site improved? 10. Are there social networking options such as facebook and blogs? 11. Is there appropriate use of multimedia?
