Ichido, entrepreneur
Background

In 2006 I met Rodrigo Hao in high school; he has been my friend during all this years. In 2007 he left school to start working with his older brother that is 30 years old and has created a big textile company, from manufacturing his own clothes, to the distribution in Firenze, Madrid and Shanghai.
He worked during two years in the sales and management area in Madrid, while he closely learned from his brother. In 2010 he went living to shanghai where he started working in the demanding area, where he had to talk to manufacturers and transporters to make sure that the clothes will arrive to each department.
After 3 years working in shanghai, he started seeing a great opportunity, thanks to his progress in Chinese and with a great list of contacts in the textile industry. One day he was back to Madrid, he told me about his idea, starting his own brand.
This idea has always been into his mind, but he saw the moment coming, and he was ready to start. His brother lends him the money to start the business, around 60.000€. So he could start opening one shop and start doing the business.
Since I know him, when he started his company I couldn´t even see him because he is very dedicated to his business and keeps innovating and implementing new growing strategy. After seeing all his efforts and work, I believe he is very dedicated to his business and that he is a real entrepreneur because he is not scared to success in an economic crisis situation.
Opportunity identification.

My friend identified this business opportunity thanks to his background, working and learning how the industry was behaving, and what factors were important in order to make his older brother succeed. He knows that he has a premium access to the clothing manufacturer thanks to his contacts and his fluent Chinese speaking.
His initial idea was to have storage where he could have easy access in order to keep his shops working. But due to the economic problems he

He credits his success to a rule of listening to and supporting his sales force team rather than giving them orders, which represents the inverted pyramid with management at the bottom and customers and sales people at the top (A reference, 2015). Some may see his leadership falling short when it comes to being innovative and creative since he still focuses on doing business the way his family did it, striving to provide superior service, “one customer at a time” (Lewis,…

High parental expectations: were put on him: “the ambition to succeed was instilled in me.” Having idealised his family (a “fine” one), he followed what they told and showed him, and from early age, worked in all his spare time, after school and during vacations as he took on his parents’ motto, “Keep busy; always have something constructive to do.” This continued in adult age when he kept busy and endeavouring to go up the ladder of professional success. Through his hard working he became director of a large bank. As his family was quite community-oriented, so was he, and he also became director of several civic organisations.…

This opportunity gave a young Balenciaga success in his native country and made him one of the few couturiers in History who was able to design, cut and sew his creations. As Balenciaga once noted “A couturier must be an architect for design, a sculptor for shape, a painter for colors, a musician for harmony and a philosopher for temperance.” Balenciaga open branches of his boutique Eisa in Madrid, Barcelona and the fashionable seaside resort of San Sebastian. His designs were favored by the aristocracy of Spain including the Spanish royal family. The eruption of the Spanish Civil War forced him to close down his boutiques and moved to Paris. Once in Paris he opened his couture house on 10 George Avenue V; where he immediately became an instant success among the elite and joined the ranks of Chanel and Schiaparelli.…

His business model is quite genius, allowing him to keep both fixed and variable costs to a minimum. He did this by relying on a mix of commission-based salespeople, having family-run management, and having Chicani oversee almost every aspect of the company and initially respond to every call. Slowly but steadily he was able to grow his customer base and get the attention of larger commercial clients, like Itaipu Binacional.…
