Teacher is the kind of leader I want to be in the futures:
According to George Manning and Kent Curtis (2008, p.3), “leaders can be teachers, who are rule breakers and value creators”. In my opinion, “rule breaker” and “value creator” have the meaning of relationship - orientation, not driving people by rules or forcing them to do, but building the shared values and norms that people all follow.
I want to be a teacher – leader because my leadership goals are: (1) successfully inspiring and developing others; (2) making change for a better community; (3) being an effective leader. When people’s perspective is objective and positive, and they decide their action base on the shared values and norms not because of being feared of criticism of punishment, they become more complete and better. The value that I feel that underlies me to help others is my ability to put people first, as in being able to put my feeling aside so I would be willing to be there for them. For example my father was dating a woman that I felt was a woman after his pocket, she lied a lot and was a fake. But besides how I felt about her my father loved her and he knew how I felt about her, but I stood by him and was respecting his wishes. Now if she was putting him in harm’s way then I would have to step up and something.…

When I was in school I took a test, which gave me suggestions on what I should do in life as an adult. I believe that the test that I took influenced my personality, and the type of attitude that I had in time of conflict, and situations. Each suggestion that I was given would have me to be a leader. I believe that in order to lead, a leader must have walked were other are trying to go. Leaders have the challenge of serving those employees, or students who they lead. My goal as a leader is to encourage people to better his or herself by making, wise and structured decisions in life. Decisions that we make today affect the paths of our future.
