I think that I am in the process of trying to understand my own culture, which really helped that I had a dairy involved to write my stories and reflect off of the experiences within my stories. The black male subject was straddling a bicycle and the white female subject was standing next to him. The white female was holding a beverage in her left hand that was wrapped in a brown paper bag. Upon sight of my patrol vehicle, the female subject attempted to concealed the beverage on the left side of her body. I felt sad for Mr. Gill, one of the main reasons being that I have personally been in a MVC myself which brought up the similar feelings, such as anxiety and chronic pain that Mr. Gill expressed. It felt like despite the differences in our age or situation, the pain he was expressing I could relate to directly. Another reason for feeling sadness for him was that he reminded me so much of my own father in appearance and nature. During the session, he referred to me as someone who is like his daughter and that he felt comfortable sharing information with me. I think this moment caused a shift in our therapeutic relationship, in which I felt even more inclined to show him respect and to provide encouragement on his development. The language barriers he faced in getting treatment made me feel angry towards the system. Unfortunately, MVC are common occurrences in our society thus, I imagined that the support systems would have been set in place for survivors to reduce the effects of physical and psychological harms.…

Pre-O helped me transition because it helped me make friends before classes started. While everyone else were attempting to make new friends the students of Pre-O already formed bonds and found friends. It also helped me become familiar with the campus. The rest of the incoming freshmen were struggling during orientation because they didn't have the advantage that we did. They asked us all types of questions such as 'Where is Modlin?', 'What is the quickest way to get back to the dorms?', and so on. All in all, it was just a nice feeling to be able to knowledgeable and not have to struggle with new surroundings.…

The assignment is intended to discuss a case I worked on whilst on my final placement and use an analytic stance to discuss the interaction and interventions used with the service user. In order to maintain confidentiality and anonymity of the service users in this case study I will be using pseudonyms for all people involved and mentioned in relation to this case. The assignment will demonstrate professional judgement, accountability of a social worker and the statutory requirements of protection and intervention when working with vulnerable adults. The case study will focus on my work with Sarah throughout my time on placement and assess my principal interventions as well as locating my work within the wider discourses around risk deploying both recovery and exchange models. It will also highlight the strengths and limitations within the process of recovery. Within this case study I will aim to describe and analyse the practice, theories and values that have emerged by carrying out this piece of work. The assignment will critically evaluate my practice with specific reference to the social work skills used. By reflecting on my practice I hope to demonstrate how I have considered issues such as power imbalances and social injustice and how this consideration has assisted me to work in an anti-oppressive, non-judgemental way with the service user involved. With reference to this particular case study I will also demonstrate to the reader the power imbalance that existed between the professionals in terms of their approach. This was clearly evident in relation to the social model approach versus the medical model approach. Drawing on my observation and the experience of working within an inter-professional team I will provide critical appraisal of the issues and barriers that existed. I will also compare, contrast and evaluate the medical and social model of mental health and mental disorder by referring to appropriate literature and…

I realize that IB will one of the most challenging courses I will take before I enter college and I am not even in the program yet. It is a culture in itself. However, I am also a part of the music culture at EWHS where I am included in the Symphonic Band , as well as the Mello- Aires and because both groups require the majority of my time, I am well versed in each culture’s rules and values. Both the IB program and the music program have similar standards, values, and traits to live up to, but on the other hand, both cultures have an incredible impact on my daily life and how I go about it.…

Completing the Intellipath helped by reading, participating on the example questions and the quizzes to improve on my learning styles. It also helped me understand the strategies of the concept. It helps me to work on tasks that are more challenging for me and hard to understand and get the strategy. The kolb’s learning style is still a little unclear to me because It challenges and enhances other learning styles to develop more of a balanced approach to my learning styles. I can understand more better on how to use three approaches to learning which are Behavioral, Cognitive, Constructivist approaches. Hopefully, during this time period of attending AIU that these concepts would be more clarified.…

This assignment, by employing a structured reflective approach, will appraise my management experience whilst on clinical placement and examine how this has helped to shape my professional practice. Reflection maybe defined a process in which a nurse may learn, appreciate and improve their practice (Rolfe 2001). Having the ability to reflect on actions within clinical practice is important proposes that a reflective model enables learning whilst utilising experiential knowledge from previous reflections. Reflection may also be seen as a reviewing process of an experience that examines, describes, evaluates and informs learning (Reid 1993). The model that will be used to reflect is known as Gibbs’ reflective model (Gibbs 1988).…

I am someone who likes write things out, and see what I have to do, and so I went to the store and bought a calendar that I can use dry erase markers on so that I have to write everything out. It gets me to know exactly what I have planned during the week after school, on weekends, or on breaks from school. I put things like my family or a friend’s birthday so I make sure to call, also if I plan on staying afterschool one day. I use it to see when I hang out with my friends on the weekend because these last couple months have been a bit hectic with college things that it is nice to hang with friends and I just write it on my calendar and know exactly what I’m going to do that day.…
