You are the worst person in this world. Why couldn’t you meet me early? Why couldn’t you walk in my life at a phase where I would have been able to live a few more days with you? Why? You knew I was scared of the dark so you left the light in the bathroom( you still do that every time we come over) and you put a chair next to the bed so if me or Kasia fell off nothing would happen to us. Then I became homesick and scared of the night and the dark and you stayed at the bottom of the bed talking to me until I fell asleep and I do not know how you accomplished that. You slept near me the whole entire night in case I woke up and you cared for the slightest need, that I requested. As your eyes were half closed you made sure I was always happy. Then the next morning you made the breakfast that is now the usual at house (Nalesniki, bacon, eggs and homemade blueberry syrup). I will never forget how you cared for me because you influenced me to care for others before myself and everyday of your life you follow…

I’m writing this letter to you to inform and update you on my life. However I first wanted to address what happened in Kabul. I'm sorry Hassan. I'm so sorry for everything. However I don't want to dwell on that too much, I just pray that you'll forgive me for all the wrong doing I have done. I know it won't help much, because you're so pure and kind, but Kamal was raped, and he died on the way out of Kabul. On to a more positive subject, life in America has been such an adjustment for Baba, but it has truly been amazing. I went to the ocean and it was even more marvelous than in the movies, oh how I wished you were with me. The ocean is so blue and beautiful, I think I might've even seen a whale. I completed high school and I'm now enrolled in college for creative writing.…

One of the generalities most often noted about Victims of Love is that we are impatient, incomplete, and unsatisfied once we discover what love is and that is possible for anyone to have. We complain when we want it, yet take it for granted when it’s ours. We say we cannot stand to live with our lovers, yet we proclaim it is unbearable to live without them. We claim to be strong and fearless, but in the face of love we fall weak to our knees with open arms reaching for all it has to offer.…

I remember the day you changed my life, my love, for it was a long time coming. You were trying to blend in with the rest of them but I only had eyes for you. A strong overwhelming feeling struck me like lightning, butterflies and excitement. Perhaps ordinary to anyone else, but to me, you were shiny and new. I’d heard so many good things about you from my friends; it made me quiver jealousy to hear them talk about you because you weren’t mine. Destiny, fate, whatever you want to call it, I knew our paths were going to cross that day. I had to make you mine.…

When it was her turn to introduce herself to us, she stood up, and walkedgracefully towards the center of the circle. Firstly, she greeted all of the classmates with a bow. Then she began to introduce herself to us. “My name is Mei. I like singing and dancing…”, she said to us wearing a big smile. Hearing that she likes singing and dancing, some guys were excited and asked her to sing a song for us. After a few seconds, she smiled to us, “Ok, I want to sing the Take Me to Your Heart to all of you. Wish you will like it!” Her singing was so beautiful that I immersed myself in it. When she was singing, all classmates applauded for her performance. And some students even sang with her.…

Maya Kumari was married when she was 15 years old. She was 18 years old when she got pregnant It was her 8th month of pregnancy, she was happy but didn’t know how life would change into darkness in a second. I still remember the day when the sunny weather turned gloomy with rain showers and lightning. I noticed something horrible was about to happen! Later at night, my mom came home and she was talking to our neighbors about Maya that Maya was in labor and Maya did not tell anyone, not even her husband because Maya was bleeding which made her embarrassed to share. She gave birth, but she did not survive and the doctor said if they brought her little earlier than they could have saved her.…

First love maybe is not the last one but to be in love is a pleasure. He and I were two poles of the magnet: one positive and one negative. Things could never be settled down. From “Anh” I realized that first love was sweet and unforgettable even though it would never last long. The childish dream, was to be together, just never came true. My first love was the best but only memories left, the familiar taste about “Anh” to me. In my own world, illusion about love always obsesses me. The thoughts that love will never end until my last breath, lovers can stay next to each other fill me up in my unreal world. After “Anh” has gone I see that lovers are not necessary have to be side by side, love is to see your partner’s happiness. “Anh” taught me happiness is not the thing you can see through right in front of your eyes; you see it by heart. It is also because of him, and his love that inspired me to move on. Now. I have someone for my own, someone but not “Anh”.…
