I read the book “I Am Nujood, Age 10 and Divorced” which takes place in Yemma, Algeria, which is located in Asia. The United States has many different community service organizations that are helping Asia. These community services are helping to improve the lives of people in need, providing education, jobs, and access to healthcare. The American India Foundation works to empower education and enforce women's rights. In yemma kids have to drop out of school at a young age, to get married and start a family. Women have little to no rights, and have to follow the husband's orders. The Asia Foundation is an organization working to improve the government and law. They help to support development and to improve Asia’s relations with other countries.

    But it's when it actually comes time to do the fixing is when it starts to become hard. America, being the big brother that it is, tries to support smaller nations in times of need. Things we've done to combat the increase in poverty over the years has been something called the Borgen Project. What the Borgen project is, is notifying and giving people steps to help them fight off poverty. Samaritans Purse is well known for creating the international “Operation Christmas Child”. What that is, is sending kids in poor countries christmas gifts that they couldn't receive normally.
