In Hyung Joon case, I would rely on Super’s life-span, life-space theory, and I would be concerned with the importance of the client’s life role. What does Hyung Joon hope to accomplish with each salience life role and to what degree is he able to express his life-roles. Collecting the information in the initial phase of career, and this will help the counselor understand the client’s life-role (Super, 1990). He finds being a travel agent an uninteresting and a monotonous task. Self-concepts fluctuate over time and producing selections and modifications are essential. I would ask him about if he interested in furthering his education and set his goals in a further realistic format (Harris-Bowlsbey and Niles, 2013). I would also work on updating his resume and information. I would ask him about his interests and values. Going into depth about a specific strategy about career counseling would assist him in benefit and finding his interests and qualities he has overlooked. Hyung Joon seems to have a poor occupational choice due to the fact that he got the degree; nevertheless, he doesn’t have work experience in this area. I would utilize Super’s exploration stage task. He has a job as a travel agent. He might enjoy a career in sales and work on updating his skills and finishing his Bachelor of Arts in business so he could obtain a more suitable job. His disability should not limit him from undertaking what he wants to do, and there are countless accommodations that can be made; subsequently, he could work or go to school. His family is supportive of him;
