Humour: Comedy and Happy Gilmore
I think that humour really is the best medicine. If someone is really upset or really angry a joke could cheer him or her right up. Also laughter could really release someone's stress, and if people were a lot less stressful then the world would be a much better place.

Although humour usually cheers people up it also has caused many problems. There is a lot of sick humour out there like sexist and racial jokes. Many people in our world make many racial jokes and that causes people to get very angry.

Here are two people that I find very funny:

· Jerry Seinfeld- He has been a comedian for a long time and he even had is own television show. I never missed one episode of Seinfeld; it's basically a story about nothing. There are sometimes some sick humour mentioned but it's spoken very rarely in the show. His show was on the air for almost eight years and I wish his show were stilling doing new episodes. But they show all the reruns on television.

· Adam Sandler- He is a very funny actor. I enjoy many of his movies such as: Happy Gilmore, Billy Madison, and Big Daddy. My favourite of all time has to be Happy Gilmore that movie is so hilarious. In Happy Gilmore he plays a man that can hit the golf ball over 400 yards. So he needed some money for his grandmother so he decided to join the PGA. Well

In the BBC article “How comedy makes us better people”, Mary O’Hara claims comedy holds a very relevant place in not only British politics and culture, but also in the entire world because it can be used to comprehend and come to terms with confusing events or tragedies, challenge the authority of our governments, and destroy bigoted states of mind. Humor continues to mystify the philosophers and intellects that study it to this day. Why does humor play a major part in our everyday lives? What is the significance of it? O’Hara interviews experts from many different fields discussing comedy and its heavy impact on the emotions, politics, and differing points of view. For instance, the tragedy of 9/11 had many jokes following its events because…

Humor is all about a person making an amusing observation that in result creates laughter and provides entertainment for the audience. In the book titled Status Anxiety by Alain de Botton, the author makes a statement that the role of humor in society is to allow people to say things that other people cannot or will not say because of their role in the community. I agree with de Botton’s statement because humor secretly allows people to get a message across without having to worry about others looking down upon you because of what you said, as well as providing people with more awareness of the wrongdoing in society by making them easier to understand through the use of humor.…
