Humorous Wedding Speech: I Am Sir Kingsley III
Hello, I am Sir Kingsley III, I am a knight. I am 40 and the leader of my platoon consisting of 50 men, I own lots of land given to me from my king because of my loyalty. I have a son named after me Kingsley IV he is 12 years old learning the ways of being a knight and the act of chivalry. In my opinion battles would be fought way quicker if we had no mercy, snuck up on enemy and if our enemy drops his/her weapon that is when we strike. But doing so would mean that you are a coward and too scared to fight a fair fight. It is Sunday and I have just been notified of Germanic tribes burning down cities and also that they are headed in this direction. Later that day I round up all the leaders to discuss what to do and how to defend our town. The next morning we gather all the men that are already in the army and volunteers and told them our plan of action. They all …show more content…
I break apart from my men to ride to my house and see that it has been burnt to a crisp with no life left, I fell off my horse and sobbed and sobbed because my life's work has gone into that house and that my son had been killed by the germanic tribes. I head back to the middle of the town to see all my men mourning their losses and the medics taking care to the wounded. I am very sad and worried.
The next morning a scout comes up to me and says that there are tracks of footprints and wagons. I investigate and recognize these tracks instantly, they are the germanic tribes tracks. I follow them for about 30 minutes and get on top of a hill and see the tribes, I want to go down there and slay all of them because of what they did to my son. But I head back to camp round up all the army men tell the peasants and the serfs to follow our tracks north to reach one of the villages that the tribes

Abelard rushed in with a wooden bat, with the most frightened look on his face. He told us to get in the corner behind a small closet door, but by the time my little sister had made it, it was too late. The dreaded German soldiers had already barged into the room. They grabbed Abelard, and he had a look of defeat on his face. They shot both my mother and father. I fell, my heart feeling like an elephant was on top of it. One of the soldiers came and hit me with his gun. I remember seeing Abelard jump out of the soldiers grip trying to block them from shooting my little sister, so they shot him.…

He stopped. Around him laid the bodies of comrades and friends, puddles of blood surrounding their corpses, their flesh blackened and charred. On the ground next to many their heads laid severed, visages of terror forever printed upon them. Some had been ripped apart, their organs beside them, either dry and shriveled or still oozing blood. More still remained deep in the blaze, given no opportunity of escape. However so, the more unlucky of these men remained alive, groaning in agony with the last of their shallow…

Knights were a huge part of the military, as they were the military, and feudalism gives and gets the required resources in order for it to work efficiently. If the kingdom called upon an army of a manor the lord would have to give him troops because it is part of his feudal oath. lords would give massive amounts of knights to the king (could be up to hundreds of them) (Biel 9). This worked efficiently because the king's needs were met as were the lords (Biel 9). Knights would also have to swear an oath to stay loyal to their lord. The oath that the knight took was an oath of fealty, or loyalty, this was a seal that was holding the military together (Goucher 5). Only based on his loyalty, could a knight be respected and be able to…

In practise warfare remains the true test of chivalry and courtesy is largely the stuff of courtly poetryThus there is a clash of priorities and it appears impossible for the perfect knight to be loyal to his neighbour, to his lady, to God, to war and to everything else the code of chivalry entails. The nature of warfare in itself is a crime against courtesy. An example of this is within the fight between Arcite and Palamon in the forest. They courteously help each other to arm and then a fight to the death ensues. It raises the question whether it is even possible to be a perfect and noble knight when the two main aspects of the tale are love and war. Being a knight becomes a contradiction in…

The next day woke me by the sound of gun fires and our men yelling waking us up. We grabbed our gear and hid behind the rough hills as a shield. It started, as frightened as I already was my friend had just got killed by the blazing bomb. I didn’t know how to feel about it in this rush of survival, so I ran as the next bomb was coming my way. But what could I do about it? I have to protect myself as well. I didn’t put my life at stake I was forced like all the other soldiers. My life is at risk and if I survive I will go home with proud survival guilt. As I had just lost focus of what was happening because I was so shocked thinking this is what war really is; a gun manages to pass through my arm as if I’m not weak already. I fall down to the ground with the scent of dirt southing (soft rustling) through my nose. A blurred vision of my troops fighting was the only other sense apart from the sound of air raid sirens and drones. I can’t believe no one has noticed me, they probably have but don’t…

Everyday the sons of nobles what come up to ask me, “Can you make me your knight? I would respond “no,” to be a knight you need years of combat training. After that task you have to become a squire. A squire is someone who accompanies and works for a knight. When the time comes you must make an oath to me, to be loyal and to protect the kingdom. If you were a knight you were to be expected to defend the castle at all times. A knight would have to be brave and fearless but would also have to be loyal to the king and generous to his people. The knights would practice combat in tournaments that were going on in the kingdom. The activities that took place in the tournaments were jousting, archery, and hand to hand combat using…

Upholding the code of chivalry is my main duty as a knight and my life’s purpose, and without me knowing, my allegiance and honor was being put to the test. On a particular New Year’s Day at Camelot, a green knight arrived demanding for a knight to prove himself worthy. Once I knew that my uncle truly meant to take up the green knight’s request, I could not let him face this great provocation all by himself, and so I volunteered in his place. The pact I made with the green knight was “I shall offer you a strike, and in twelve months I shall endure another by your hand with whatever weapon you deem fit.” Those were the exact conditions that I agreed to, and with that I sealed my fate - I knew that I could not act a coward and run.…

As we talk about this we came up with so many idea. For me I would be proud mom and very scared for my son at the time. We know that for the parents of the 2000 stripling warriors they were very proud of their sons that they were able to keep their covenants, so they didn’t have to pull up there weapons of war. As for mom I would worry about my son the whole time but I would know that he in the lord’s hand and would be safe. But I also know that if something had happened to him in war that is was the lord timing and in due time I would be okay with it. Something that was taught to me with reading the chapters is on how it is very important that we keep covenants that we made with the lord and live them every day. There is so much that we can learn from the story that are in the scriptures we just need to seek, find them and apply them into are…

We are violently being pushed around as the soldiers yell into our ears making me feel almost deaf. I’m pushed away from my family as I see their faces of fear. I can see children crying and begging to soldiers for their parents as parents yelled and screamed back. We are taken to the camps that will be our new home for now. I finally get to meet up with my mother again as she puts her hands on my face. I hug my mother as we then are taken to get our new looks. My mother and I are taken to get our new clothing. Since we have fought the vikings many times before, our veteran soldiers are very aware of how the war will be. He spoke of a particular viking whose name is unknown who towers above all other viking warriors. He is said to be as tall as the trees and as broad as three men combined. No one has ever came close to killing this viking except my father, Noty, who almost defeated this viking warrior on our adventure to our current location. This particular viking raided our village years ago, stole all of our livestock, and killed six of our guardsmen. There is a prophecy taught by the elders that speaks of an uncommon soldier that will defeat a great opponent and lead the tribe of Bernicia to conquer many lands and my dear friend Alyieb believes that I am the chosen one. I am extremely frightened and unsure that I will survive this battle which will arrive tomorrow. As I pack my things, I explain to my children that I may not survive and in the case that I descend to the underworld, they will live with Alyieb. I did not sleep that night. The next morning, the whole village packed their things and we were off to meet our opponent. I walked with Alyieb and my…

It was only two minutes ago that a group of inexperienced soldiers ran off to avenge the civilians by killing the commander in chief, even knowing that they don't stand a chance against him and they might not return again to see their families. I am a trained, experienced soldier and if I don’t do something about the issue then more people will die like the brave group of inexperienced soldiers and that will be all because I can’t do my job. What is the difference between me and them if I just stay quiet to injustice? There's a limit to keeping calm and the commander in chief just broke that limit. Last time in a war when I did not do anything countless men were slain, only this time the war will be more horrendous if I don't kill the commander in chief without any help from other soldiers. I have to act now and fast before some other soldier puts their live at risk and makes their family suffer, my family is far away from me so I can understand their families pain if they die. Right away I knew it was Matthew’s voice and that he was injured pretty bad. I hear the cry get louder and louder until I find him laying against a burnt tree after being shot twice in the arm. I made a sacrifice to take him to the medic center instead of defending my troop. It was a long walk to the medical center, but it was worth saving my friend’s life. I was glad he was ok, but one of the shots in his arm hit one of his bones and made a big dent inside of it. So Matthew couldn't battle and defend with the remaining troops that were still alive. I decided to run back to the battle field and check in on Matthew after we finished off the…
