Humorous Wedding Speech
Billy Elliot persuasive speech

Dad, lastly my desire for dancing has been increasing and the only reason that is hindering me from doing what I really love is you and Tony. I know I’m not just a normal boy as everyone else who plays football or does boxing, but I am not like everyone else because what differences me from them is that I have a dream I want to follow, I have an objective in my life, I want to dance. I know what you think about me, the worst son you could ever had, a dishonor for the family, and maybe I am that, I am all of those things you think about me but that are your thoughts, yours and Tony thoughts, not mom’s, not grandma’s! If mom would be a live she would be supporting me on this, but well, she is not here so now it’s only me trying to make you two to support me on this, trying to convince you to let me do what I most love in life, ballet.

You dad, you are a miner and although you never told it to me, I know this wasn’t your dream and I know that you will prefer doing everything but mining, so I’m begging you please not to make your future become my future. Give me an opportunity to change this sort of family tradition. Give me an opportunity to be something else, something that I would enjoy to be, not something that I would be forced to do and later be regretted of the choice I

I am contacting you to inform you of some issues that have I have been concerned with when it comes to Kami and her performance on the JV cheer team. First and foremost, I just want to let you know that it has been a pleasure working with Kami on our team. Kami brings a very energetic and infectious vibe to our team. She has grown tremendously as an individual and as an athlete. However, lately, it is that same energetic and infectious behavior that has become a distraction for the team, especially during our practices. Today, Kami and her team had to run three laps because she was laughing and talking during stunts. As you know as a longtime cheer parent, stunting is a time that has to be taken seriously, otherwise there is the potential for…

My ancestors came in my country of America in chains. Take a look at me now. One more look. Once again perhaps. I see Barack almost everyday, praying as a Muslim in the Oval Office and around the Beautiful House. Also, all the years we have knowing each other, he has been praying as a Christian as I am. I could not be more proud to say, if any Muslim or Christian leader in our wonderful nation, the United States of America, or around the world can run his or her country like he has been running for almost a decade, we will all be living with the Angels in heaven on Earth. But it wasn't easy, look at his gray hair. What we inherited first day we walked in until tonight, it sure wasn't easy. Forget about the odds that were against us, excluding for Oprah. Godly souls always have been showing themselves among their own kind in a gathering dropping…

I hope everyone made it home safely. In order for the girls to take home first the last team we played couldn't tie or lose their last game. Unfortunately they ended up winning their final game 7-0 which gave them 10 points. Our girls finished with 9 so we ended up finishing second. I have the girls medals and will give them to them at the next practice. The girls played a great tournament but just came up short to a really good team, so please tell them great job!! Ball movement was much better than it has been and overall play was pretty much consistent throughout.…

Dad and I laugh at random things as we wait for our food. Once it’s handed to us, we sit at a table and our eyes dart immediately to the soccer game playing on TV. We are engulfed in silence as each one of us focuses intently on the screen. Only a few words are exchanged to comment on players and how good they are doing so far. It’s time to leave. My dad jokes about finally getting rid of me and I laugh along feeling happy, despite the sadness from having to be gone weighing on me. My father engulfs me in a hug and expresses how proud he is of me; and how certain he is that I will succeed no matter how hard life gets. I feel my spirits lift as I hug him one last time and thank him for supporting me through everything; and I walk away feeling more than ready to begin a new life.…

He grabs his coffee from the stand in the garage and heads into the car. I hesitate and breathe in, “Dad, I don’t want to do art, or photography anymore. I don’t want to do school.” My father’s mood and vibes changes quickly. He reaches to the volume for the radio and turns it down. “What do you mean you don’t want to? You can’t just give up on great talent.” I prickle my thumbs together and heart beats faster than like a rollercoaster. “It’s just-” I hesitated, “What’s the point in doing them? I’m not as good as everyone else. Other people have glamorous photos and breathtaking artwork, and then there’s me. The teacher barely pays attention to me because she’s worried about the better students. Plus school is just dumb and I can’t understand anything.” My father lets out a big exhale and stops at a red light.…

“If there is one thing I want you learn from our time together, the most important lesson I could ever teach you as your father, is to never give up. When you’re all alone in life and it seems like nothing's going your way, you just need to keep being yourself and keep doing your thing, and people will notice how great you are. In the worst most awful time of your life my best piece of advice to you is just keep going, never give up on yourself and the results will surprise you every time. I guarantee it.” Words like this haven’t been told to me many times in my life. Throughout these first 17 years of my life, ever since my brother and I were young, we haven’t been with our dad constantly, I have lived with my father for probably 40%-30% of…

I want to see you go professional one day, ok”. I couldn’t believe that he said that to me. I was so happy that I was ready to play soccer. I’m so lucky to have my dad because he just knows what to do to make me happy. If any other person knew my dad their life would change because he is the amazing person any kid would want to have or could have. I have so many special memories that my dad and I had when I was little. They were good moments and some were bad. Like one day my dad and I were playing soccer at the back yard and all of sudden the ball at of nowhere it pop from the side. We were both freaking out because we didn’t know why it popped. Then one of the bad times was when I broke my leg from falling off a tree. So my dad was outside with my uncles and…

Therefore that’s why I’m thankful to have a dad that can count on, and have that inspiration everyone needs, to feel confident and give it their all in whatever they’re doing. Today was the day where I got to live my dream of acting. It was a magnificent feeling being on that stage and saying those lines and hearing the audience applause for me. Then seeing my father in the audience gave me hope that my dream could come true for the future. So to ensure that happened, I tried harder to make everything perfect and showed how passionate I am on stage to my father. I thought the applause for me from the audience would make my father realize this could be my profession and that people actually like me but this had no effect on him. As soon as I was done with the play, my father came and took me to the car. He didn’t even give me a chance to thank my cast members and to allow people to tell me how I did or whether they liked the play. He came and told me to come with him. I could see the angry in his eyes and then I knew that all that on the stage meant nothing to him. All that he took in account was that I disobeyed him by coming here. At that moment I could see my dream shattering in front of me and I couldn’t do anything to stop it. I couldn’t understand that why it was so hard for my father to understand what I wanted to do.…
