Human Trafficking – What It Is and The Different Types In the United States slavery was abolished in 1865, over one-hundred and fifty years ago, however, slavery is still a problem for most countries, including the United States. The modern day term for slavery is human trafficking. Just like slavery these individuals are generally forced or manipulated by their captors. Human trafficking victims vary from the young to the old and usually involve those who are uneducated and poor. The types of human trafficking vary greatly. The three types of human trafficking are sex trafficking, forced labor and organ trafficking. Sex trafficking is the most known type of human trafficking. Such places are ideal for organ trafficking because the government is either focusing on rebuilding the country or there is no government at all.
