Understanding Organisations and the Role of Human Resources
3HRC
Introduction
In this report I will aim to explain why the retention of the HR department in our organisation is essential. To illustrate this I will explain how 3 HR activities support the organisation’s strategy and explain 3 ways the HR professionals support line managers and staff.
Findings
HR department is important to overall success of organisation. I have identify three HR activities which support organisation’s strategy.
Ensuring the organisation is legally compliant in all dealings with employees – HR department in Richardson Roofing assures that from the start to the end of the employment of an employee or subcontractor the company is compliant. HR department creates legal contract for a new employee or subcontractor.
The contract is signed by employee or subcontractor on the first day of employment. The HR department checked this contract to assure that all pages are filled in and signed and relevant documents such as passport, ID card, visas, residence permit are provided. HR department executes checks to assure that employees are eligible to work for the organisation.
All employees and subcontractors documents and details are kept safely to avoid breach of Data Protection.
When the employment is terminated we assures that this is done legally and we advise the employee if needed.
HR department executes self-assessment audits to assure that the organisation is legally compliant.
Employee Engagement – Since employee engagement is critical to success of organisation our HR department assures that the employees of Richardson Roofing are engaged by giving them opportunity to express their views and ideas in their annual reviews. Prior to their appraisals employees are asked to fill a questionnaire. Their answers are collected and processed by HR and passed to senior management who act on this answers.
Human resources also engage employees and subcontractors
