A number of biological factors contribute to the individual’s personality that also determines a human behavior. Whereas biology has an important part in behavioral responses environmental factors also influence human behavior. Further behavioral clarification can be found through examination of a person’s social influences, which consist of social support networks (e.g.,) family and peer groups) and larger entities that cause behavioral reaction including submission and obedience. Influence over behavior from family, peer groups, and individual and group authorities are often questioned. Social effects influence behavior over a person’s lifespan.
Social Influences and Adolescent Behaviors such as Unhealthy Eating Behaviors for example, different aspects make a healthy, intelligent adolescent child acquire an unhealthy obsession with weight. Considering the social influences on adolescents perception of self and acceptance related to their body and beauty are numerous. Individual factors influence partially on a development of obsessive and harmful behavior associate with disorders such as Anorexia Nervosa, however; family members, peers, and even the mass media may have stronger influence on frequent dieting or Anorexic behavior among teens (Field, Camargo, Taylor, Berkey, Roberts, & Colditz, 2001). Parental influences greatly impact teen eating behaviors. An authoritative parent figure may intimidate the child with his or her behavior, which in result may cause the adolescent to look for signs of acceptance or appropriate behavior. This is also similar with behavioral eating patterns and habits. An adolescent whom parents practices negative eating behaviors most likely will develop the same unhealthy eating habits. The parental influence does not stop with behavior modeled
