Creative Thinking

How might you use the strategies for applying creativity to problems and issues in addressing this topic?

The article I found on the university library is, ‘North Korea ramps up war rhetoric: 3
Seoul, South Korea’, by Kim Jin-Hyung for the Tulsa World. For this particular topic I would use the creative strategy process devising or modifying a process or system. The article explains that North Korea government has severed the last communication link or hot line between the two countries because of the recent military drills and sanctions against the country due to the nuclear test by the U.S. –South Korean military (Jin-Hyung 2013). I believe both sides can come together and use the existing process and build a new form of communication since the system has obviously run its course and broken down. Political leaders from all parties involved should come together and

I would first use the approach of searching for challenges regarding this topic and attempt to get to the root cause of the issue. I realize that there are many deep rooted issues between the countries I could probably develop a long list, however, by applying this method I think you could at least provide the biggest challenge or issue and bring that to the table for discussion to start. Another strategy from the creative process that I would promote towards this topic would be to express the problem or issue. I believe that at of the governments involved should all fully express what exactly is the main issue between the nations that has made them feel threaten by each other. I feel that the lack of communication between all parties involved has led to unnecessary reactions from both sides due to certain military posturing and rhetoric that has been thrown at each

You have to make sure you have money to pay the loan back, but if you don’t you will go into default. When you go into default this destroys your credit. The default shows up on your credit, which you don’t want to happen. Having negative credit on your credit report could stop you from getting future loans. Some other consequences of borrowing too much and going into debt are: evictions, foreclosures, wage garnishments, emotional breakdowns, ruined credibility and undesirable credit. Debt affects people in different ways and has a major impact on the life of each person. It often determines how they will be able to live their lives.…

The biggest breaking story I chose was about the Afghans heading to the polls to vote amid the threats of insurgent attacks. On the CNN website, it seemed like the story was less detailed and descriptive than the other sites. Even though it covered the situation in Afghanistan, the information was delivered in a more passive way than FOXNews and MSNBC, almost as if it was a more opinion-based article. I noticed also that some of the key points that were covered on the CNN site were also covered in the other sites. Information on how many candidates were competing for election and how many seats were available in parliament seemed to be a point that all of the sites included. One main difference in the information that CNN covered, compared to the other sites, was it didn’t discuss or report anything about deaths during the election process. While news of different attacks were covered, like a roadside bomb blowing out the glass of a governor’s vehicle for example, reporting that there were no injuries quickly followed. There weren’t many links included on the page that related to the story. However, the one link that was there was a video that helped reinforce what the article covered. Other related links lead to topics on Afghanistan and the Afghanistan war. The commentaries on the CNN article were different because they described different accounts of what happened. Some discussed people were still going to the polls to vote while others came from candidates in the election.…

Similar illness in one community suggests that there must be a connection between the environment and the illnesses. Acting on that hunch, I would conduct interviews with the families and people that are affected. All ideas and procedures in this easy can be found in chapter 10. (Ruggiero, 2012). I would ask them when did the symptoms start and what their official diagnosis, if any, has their doctor gave them. The assumptions that the land itself has to be the source of the contamination could hinder the investigation. To critically think about the issue I will have to brainstorm some questions to be answered. What company or companies built the houses? Who was in…

In Peter Singer’s 1972 post titled “Famine, Affluence and Morality”, he conveys that wealthy nations, for example the United States, has an ethical duty to contribute much a lot more than we do with regards to worldwide assistance for famine relief and/or other disasters or calamities which may happen. In this document, I will describe Singers objective in his work and give his argument with regards to this problem. I will describe 3 counter-arguments to Singer’s view which he tackles, and after that reveal Singer’s reactions to those counter-arguments. I will explain Singer’s idea of marginal utility and also differentiate how it pertains to his argument. I will compare how the ideas of duty and charity alter in his suggested world. To conclude, I will provide my own reaction about this problem supporting singer’s argument. Should wealthier nations have a moral duty to relieve poorer nations if a disastrous event were to happen? I think that we all must contribute in times of need even if this means substantially modifying the way in which we live for the objective of assisting other people so long as it doesn't cause us to suffer.…

Critical thinking is reflective reasoning about beliefs and actions. It is a way of deciding whether a claim is always true, sometimes true, partly true, or false. The three most significant things I have learned in this class would be to never assume anything until you know if it is true or not, to never pass judgment on something unless if it is true, and I have learned to never go by what others have or might have said always use your brain to find the answers you are looking for. This class was a good class for me to take because I have never been a critical thinker I have always been a beginner thinker and this class has changed…

North Korea labeled the Bush administration as hostile and accused it of planning to overthrow the North Korean government by force. This concern was elevated when President George W. Ever since December of 1945 when North Korea became a dictatorship under Kim Il-Sung, it has been considered a threat to the stability in Asia. North Korea was involved with manufacturing counterfeit money, and international drug sales in order to finance the production of a nuclear weapons program. The government as also openly admitted to kidnapping citizens of other countries such as Japan or South Korea. In November 2010, North Korea displayed a newly built uranium enrichment plant. The international community has been pressuring them to stop their nuclear program, but North Korea has isolated itself that almost no visitors can enter or leave the country therefore much knowledge of North Korea’s activities are unknown. In 2003, North Korea withdrew from the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and began developing their own nuclear bomb imposing a huge threat since the missiles can reach anywhere from the United States and China to South Korea or Japan. The international community imposed sanctions upon North Korea in vain but it has not stopped their nuclear program. Even though the IAEA adopted several resolutions which called for North Korea to comply with international standards, they were ignored. After North Korea tested seven missiles over the Sea of Japan in July 2005, South Korea immediately stopped food aid in protest. Other countries such as the US, Japan, and Australia condemned all of North Korea’s nuclear tests demanding that North Korea would suspend all missile launches. By January 2009, Hillary Clinton, US Secretary of State visited North Korea to normalize economic ties if they halted their nuclear program, but North Korea did not agree.…

The second stage of the creative process is Expressing the problem or Issue. This stage allows you to look for the best expression of the issue or problem that is currently happening. Take for instance the most helpful ideas to try to solve the problem or issue that you are experiencing. For example you are traveling and your luggage gets lost in the transport. Of course you have money and could buy more clothes but did not set up a rental car, now you are faced with the issue of spending more money than expected due to something beyond your control!
