Service Request SR-ht-003 Change Request 3 Huffman Trucking is a large company and has been around since the early 1900’s. When the company started there was one tractor trailer and now the corporation has seen quite an extensive progression throughout the years. With several types of trailers and large employee base the company has spread out and has facilities located all across the country from New Jersey to California. Huffman Trucking Company consulted with another company known as Smith Systems Consulting to develop entities and attributes for a database for the fleet truck maintenance, but was unable to complete the job successfully. A dependable database is required to provide tracking of the scheduled and unscheduled maintenance for their fleet. The development will contain a database with forms, tables, queries, and reports which track maintenance records, inventory of parts, and any purchases from vendors. The entity relationship diagram (ERD) project will reduce down time of each truck in the fleet and guarantee parts availability. The project will also minimize profits loss due to accessibility of trucks, and each hub will be able to access this database. The overall objective is to bring that proposed database to life and allow Huffman Trucking Company to use that database across all of their various locations.

Smith Systems Consulting designed and developed exclusive documents for Huffman Trucking Company using the entities and attributes created by Microsoft Access. The forms were created to simplify the entry of records into the database and will streamline the method of entering the parts information, vendor information, vehicle and vehicle maintenance information, and all supplementary associated entities to the Huffman Trucking Project. It is significant the Huffman Trucking Company vehicle upkeep relational database be regularized

ý Huffman trucking is a national transportation company with logistical hubs around ýthe nation strategically located in Bayonne, New Jersey, St. Louis, Missouri, and Los ýAngeles, California; with a centrally located maintenance facility and marketing ýheadquarters in Cleveland Ohio (Huffman Trucking, 2005). The company maintains ýdatabase records of important information, which include driver information, driving logs, ýdriver-moving violations, parts inventory purchases, parts inventory used, parts ýcatalogues, parts purchasing history, vendors, vehicle maintenance, tire maintenance, ýmaintenance descriptions, vehicle types, vehicle details, and maintenance work orders ýý(Huffman Trucking, 2005). The overall operating systems architecture does not have ýstandardization between the sites. The company has two main operating systems at the ýMissouri and Ohio locations and the operating systems at the New Jersey and California ýlocations are significantly smaller in scope, which indicates that the company does less ýbusiness at the sites with the smaller infrastructure. The operating software and network ýdevices are antiquated with a vintage from the mid-eighties to the early nineties with little ýsupport available from the companies that produced the products.ý…

    Wheeling Rate System

For this case study that I will do is about the problem that I have encountered here in the National Electrification Administration (NEA), Corporate Planning Department (Corplan), and Strategic Planning Division (SPD) where I have spent about six weeks on my “On the Job Training” (OJT). The problem that I have encountered are all related to their databases which are not properly organized of creating a new database. Therefore, one choice this to be the main problem because I have come-up with a recommendation or solution to that problem and it’s a “Electric Cooperative Wheeling Rate Management System” (ECWR-Management System) for short the program that I propose will organize the data in the database to make them less messy and will automatically have a clean template for new data to be inputted and I also propose that it will have a search function by month, region, year, and by group which I find it hard to do because they use a raw database to input and search data in the database without using a third party application for organization and check for redundancy in the data. The program will have a security function by inputting a username & password for you to fully open the program and there will be a level of authorization on which it will depend to your username & password that you will only give a limited amount of approval to use the program so the administrator account can access everything and change any given data in the database while for the guest or other type of user will only be given the permission to only view the…
