Identifying Facts
1. He doesn't like how mothering she is of him, since all he wants is to be free and he thinks he can take care of himself.
2. Jim was sleeping when they snuck out, so Tom played a trick by placing his hat on the branch above his head; when Jim woke up, he told everyone that a witch flew him all over town and then placed his hat up there.

Interpreting Meanings
6. Miss Watson is more lenient than the Widow and cares less about rule than the Widow, though she cares a lot about it. She is more favorable since if one is in her supervision, it would be far better than the widow’s.
7. Huck says he can’t get what he prays for. This shows that he is young and superstitious in an innocent way

1. Huck leaves the house, he notices boot prints in the fresh snow .He realizes that there is a cross on the left boot-heel.

Interpreting Meanings
6. Twain usually picks a character that seems right in their own eyes "do-gooders" but who are full of hypocrisy. Pap Finn, Huck's father, a white man, beats Huck, drinks constantly, despise education, yet Pap still considers himself above anyone who carries a trace of black blood. Mrs. Watson, a widow, is extremely religious and tries to reform "rapscallions", but Mrs. Watson owns slaves, and attempted to split up Jim with his family when she tried to sell Jim.
7. His father was a drunk; he beat him and kept him locked in the cabin, all to get his money. Huck was afraid of his dad, and cooked up a plan to escape. He definitely wasn't happy about living with him.
