A well-respected and recognized leader in the hotel industry in Korea, Mr. Kim is President of Hospitality Tourism Company in Korea. He was instrument of establishing the first Korean hotel & resort management company in Korea and with respect he awarded Hospitality Management Prized by Hotel Management Institute. Prior to his appointment as President of Hospitality Tourism Company, Mr. G. J. Kim was the Senior Executive Director for “Oak Valley Resort”, the Resort recognized as one of top three resorts in Korea. His responsibility was involved in planning and marketing of project development from the beginning. Mr. Kim also served as manager of Finance for Shilla Hotel Chain, which owns by Samsung Group, and guided the finance and listing Korea Stock Exchange. He was responsible for developing and managing formalized systems and procedures to maximize productivity and performance at Shilla hotel chain in Korea. He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from Korea University and attended a Master’s Course in Finance of Business Administration from the Business School of Korea University. Also, AHLA Certificated of Supervision in Hospitality Industry.

    This proposal draws the clear picture of the reasons behind the downfall of the very popular ancient hospitality organization with the 60 years of glorious history of The Roaring Dragon Hotel (RDH). This proposal helps to find out the factor which causes the RDH to lose all the customer popularity and decrease the revenue in the competitive market. The main concerning points behind this miserable downfall are the cultural conflicts between the staffs of the hotel and new management committee, newly implemented strict organizational policy, complete organizational restructure, change in management committee, and lack of proper training to the existing employee to prepare the RDH hotel for the competitive market. In order to overcome those issues management should understand the cultural and communication gap exists from the side of the employees and build up friendly relationship with them.
