How Men and Women Differ
I always thought that men and women were the same and could perform the same task; the only difference was their reproductive organs. I have found out that men and women are equal but different. Men and women alike want the same rights and opportunities. According to Google.com, “Scientist have come to accept that a few fundamental differences between men and women are biological. It turns out that men’s and women’s brains, for example, are not only different, but the way we use them differs too. Women have larger connections and more frequent interaction between their brain’s left and right hemisphere. This accounts for women’s ability to have better verbal skills and intuition. Men, on the other hand, have greater brain hemisphere separation, which explains their skills for abstract reasoning and visual-spatial intelligence.” While it is unclear how much of the difference between boys and girls is due to genetics and how much is due to socialization, experts agree that a combination of both is likely the cause. Boys and girls are often born with slight predisposition to stereotypical boy/girl activities, and that predisposition is reinforced and strengthened by life experiences. Parents should always remember that it is especially important to nurture a child’s interests and talents no matter what they are, and not to limit them to gender roles that ignore their individual strengths and capabilities. I personally think that gender roles are the product of nurture because a parent controls a child’s interest and when they grow to be men and women they still have the same beliefs. In my opinion I think that women are more wrapped up in their feelings and emotions and men look at the situation more logically. Women try to get rid of the problem and fix it to whereas men try to get rid of what is causing the problem. Women tend to have a better ability to remember things that are very emotional.
