Grant, the 18th president of the United States, was a very good leader because he was a military general as well as a president and left a legacy. At first, Ulysses was not really sure about going, but with the support from his father for Ulysses to not to be a tanner or farmer throughout his entire life, but to do more than that, he may not have been able to fulfill all that he accomplished. With the Grants money being very scarce they were reluctant to find out that they could get a deal to where he had a free education in return to serve the Army after graduation. After he was finished in the Army, he was nominated to be a president by the Republican National Convention in Chicago, and he did not even do campaigning. Ulysses won the election into office on March 4th, 1869. While he was in the White House he served a total of eight years which is a total of two terms. After his terms of presidency, he went on a world tour. On July 23, 1885 at 8:06 a.m., Ulysses died while surrounded by his family and his doctors.
