The Lord of the flies was a crazy book. They made a lot of headlines on that island. Man they they loved killing.

In the scary book by William Golberg, he wrote about characters who survived a plane crash. The setting is on a island. Its also on a beach by the mountains. the main characters are ralph and piggy. they meet first and become friends. coflict occur in the novel when Jack wants to be a leader, and he kills the people that are against him.

The first reason i think the boys savage and immoral behavior is based on how they don’t won’t all those people. I wouldnt like to have 30 people on island. they would have limited food supply. i wouldn’t want to share all thsat food and shelter. They took matters in there own hands and killed them. Them boys went crazy. Jack wanted everyone on his side. He made it that way. …show more content…
They didn’t know what was happening so they had vengance. They were really scared and had vengance. Little kids with vengnace is more powerful than a bomb. Their’s no telling what a kid will do when their scared. And them kids were scared of the beastie and killed simon. Thats vengance! Them kids were mean.

Those 2 reasons that the kids were crazy. Alot of kids that are scared aint no telling whats going to happen. Thats about it right

    The novel is much better than the movie. The novel is more interesting than the movie as there was a lot of description, which was used in the right places. It was easier to read the novel. The description in the novel was very detailed which was gross but it is not as bad as seeing pigs getting slaughtered visually in the movie. It was cruel and horrendous when they killed the pig so badly. Although the novel and the movie had the same plot there were many differences in-between. A few major differences seen in the movie was the shattering of the conch, the captain/pilots presence and Ralph’s attitude towards Piggy. The movie had many things missing in it such as personality traits and some characters. Even though they had to make the movie shorter but they have taken out some of the most important things stated in the novel. These reasons made the novel more enjoyable than the movie. In the novel the author had stated various times that there were no adults at all, therefore the boys were alone and had to fend for themselves. Though in the movie there was an adult, the captain/pilot which didn’t really make sense as it was totally different in the novel. The way the movie presents the characters, meaning the way they look and talk has basically no resemblance to the novels apart from piggy, ralph and the twins. The hunters were more vicious and cruel in the movie than the novel which was very bad to watch. In the novel it looked like that piggy and Ralph had not known each other at all and Ralph mocked Piggy a lot although in the movie they were best friends and confided in each other. There were many similarities to the novel but they were approached in a completely different aspect. The novel is much better than the movie due to all these reasons said above.…

    Right from the beginning of the novel, the reader, can indicate that Jack has neither respect nor compassion towards the remaining survivors. From the first chapter, before even meeting any of the other boys, Jack’s words to Piggy, “You’re talking too much,” said Jack Merridew. “Shut up, Fatty.” (Golding 21) shows the fact that he doesn’t care about hurting anyone. As the novel continues Jack’s attitude does not get any better. While some of the boys are trying to keep order on the island, Jack is only concerned about hunting and killing. Jack becomes so possessed by his desire to kill that he doesn’t realize, at one point of the novel, that he is moments away from killing a “littlun”. Also, after the death of Simon, the boys think the “beastie” is gone. With Jack’s drive to keep seniority, he lies to the boys so they will think the beast is still there by stating, “No! How could we kill it" (Golding 146), giving the boys the uneasy feeling that the nonexistent beast is still alive and or out in the woods. Without a doubt, this shows how Jack becomes compassionless and cold hearted to the rest of the boys on the island due to his strive for dominance.…

    First of all, Jack breaks down civilization by defying the conch. During an argument at one of their assemblies, Ralph points out that rules are the only things that they have on the island. In other words, rules are the only things that are keeping the boys in tact and civilized. Jack shouts in response, “Who cares? Bollocks to the rules!” (Golding, 91). Jack’s outburst shows that he does not want to follow anybody’s rules or advice except his own, nor does he want to keep civilized like Ralph and Piggy do. He routinely does not respect the authority of the conch, which is the one sacred object that the other boys obey and listen to. Jack recognizes that the power of the conch is the only source of order and society that is keeping the kids from joining him and him becoming chief, which is exactly why he chooses to go against it. He then decides to separate himself from civilization, “I’m going off by myself. He can catch his own pigs. Anyone who wants to hunt when I do can come too” (127). By going off to fend for himself, Jack is intentionally opening the window of opportunity for others to follow his lead and hunt rather than keep order. Later on, when the mighty conch is destroyed, he celebrates, “See? See? That’s what you’ll get! I meant that! There isn’t a tribe for you anymore! The conch is gone- I’m chief!” (181).
