The different people I talk to during a day vary from it being a teacher, a parent, a friend, a sibling or even just a random person or individual who ask something. You wouldn’t talk the same to your parents than you would to a friend. In the story, “How To Tame a Wild Tongue,” the author Gloria Anzaldua states, “A monolingual Chicana whose first language is English or Spanish is just as much as a Chicana as one who speaks several variants of Spanish.” She tells us how there are so many languages or ways we talk in the certain language. This is why we talk differently to everyone. When you speak to an adult or friend whom you are comfortable with, you don’t really think before you speak.
