The movie “Cool Runnings”, is about four Jamaicans in a bobsled team and their coach. The Jamaicans in the bobsled team were named Derice, Yul, Junior and Zanka. All of them, besides Zanka, ran in the 100 meter sprint in order to go to the Olympics, but failed. The Jamaicans coach’s name is Blitzer, who was once in a bobsled team himself. Since they’re Jamaicans and come from Jamaica the other bobsled teams didn’t think highly of them. In the movie, the characters demonstrated support and honesty which are also traits I possess as a dedicated AVID student. The traits helped the Olympians in the movie reach their goals, and can also help me reach my…

Horses engage in a variety of very strenuous activities. Even a horse that is not competing or working can be subject to injuries as a result of their very nature. Horses love to run and play and actively do so socially. As an equestrian and a horse trainer, I have witnessed horses injure themselves by rolling into walls, running down hills and playing with one another. One day a horse may be perfectly fine, the next day the horse may have an injury that will keep them from being worked for weeks.…

    Realism Jumping Frog

Realism is a very natural form of writing. In it you see situations that are very probable. One can relate to characters as well as events. Whereas Romanticism is understood to be not so probable and much harder to relate to. The characters of writing are much different. Realism has a realistic plot with real location. It contains dialect that isn’t formal at all unless a character calls for it, and the character is very realistic as well. A great example of this is the story “The Celebrated Jumping Frog of Calaveras County” the plot itself is very real. Its very ordinary. These things can happen to anyone. Many people live in small towns. Their location is rather bumpkiny. Its described as something from the southern region of the US. Calaveras County could very easily be a town in the south. As for characters they are very real. Take for example Jim Smiley. This man, like many has a gambling problem. He bet on anything and everything. This man like every character in the story is so real he could be your next door neighbor. At no time does he pull out a cape and save the world or talk to ferries. Lastly dialect. Dialect in realism is well, real. There is no thy or doth there is no poetry of any sort. Realism writing calls for everything natural. Everyone talks as that should. The difference between the two forms of writing are very apparent. Romanticism has different everything. And now the next time you read either type of story you will be able to tell the difference. Any run ins with talking animals that aren’t parrots and you’ve go yourself romanticism. Any story you can stick yourself or anyone else in and say that’s possible and you’ve got yourself…

Many of us are aware of the Leap Motion with is a small, $70 gesture control system that simply plugs into any computer and, apparently, just works. The most important thing is that, if you're familiar with the touch modality the interface is entirely intuitive (Christopher, 2012). It's touch, except it happens in the space in front of the screen, so we don't have to cover our window into our tech with all those unsightly smudges. This new technology unlike a touchscreen interface, we can just move our fingers with touching the scream and the pens inside just draw exactly what you leaps are. It's the difference between attempting to conduct a symphony with a wand and attempting to conduct the same symphony by sketching out what the orchestra should do next via chalk on a blackboard. Further more, Leap operates in three dimensions rather than two. Just imagine to "push to scroll," rotating your flattened hand to control the orientation of an object with a full six degrees of freedom, or using both hands at once to control either end of a bezier surface you're casually sculpting as part of an object you'll be sending to your 3D printer (Christopher, 2012).…
